Star Wars or Avatar Every December thru '27
....starting in 2021 Star Wars or Avatar every Christmas....
"On Tuesday, Disney released an updated slate of theatrical releases, teasing fans with untitled projects from Marvel, "Star Wars" and Pixar as well as newly acquired Fox properties like "Avatar." It also staked Disney's claim on the month of December for the next eight years." December 2019 — "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" December 2020 — "Cruella" December 2021 — "Avatar 2" December 2022 — Untitled "Star Wars" film December 2023 — "Avatar 3" December 2024 — Untitled "Star Wars" film December 2025 — "Avatar 4" December 2026 — Untitled "Star Wars" film December 2027 — "Avatar 5" "Star Wars,": ...three untitled films will be part of a new trilogy written by "Game of Thrones" showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who turned George R.R. Martin's gritty fantasy novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire" into a global phenomenon. It's unclear how Cameron plans to proceed with the story (Avatar) over the course of four more films, but if they do half as well as the original film, that's a big boon for Disney. |

Honestly to me it seems a bit money driven, Disney profit driven. This story is from CNBC. Today Disney reported it's earnings.
There aren't even stories. Disney is just a money factory. Avatar 5??? I mean it just seems like a factory, assembly line mentality. Let's just stamp out another movie every year to keep Disney shareholder's happy. I am willing to bet a few wrenches get thrown into the works this schedule does not hold, not unlike the harsh reality JK Rowling has been confronted with with Fantastic Beasts 3 being delayed. |

Those 4 Avatar movies have been in the works for 10 years with release dates already set. Disney got them when they bought 20th Century Fox. Avatar 2 was scheduled to be out in 2020 and then every 2 years for 3-5. Disney merely pushed their dates back by 1 year. Also Avatar 2 and 3 have already finish filming and in post production before Disney took over 20th Century Fox. Disney must just want to make sure everything the post production is done right. Oh and Avatar 2 was suppose to be out back in 2004 but Cameron and Fox wanted to make sure they had the best script and the newest technology for it - that's why it's taking so long. After all, how do you top a movie like Avatar that went over $1 billion in box office receipt and became the highest grossing movie at the time, breaking the previous 12 years record held by Cameron's Titanic.

I am excited to see 4 new Avatar films and a new Star Wars saga that's not part of the Skywalker family thingy. 9 films all about Skywalker was a bit much. You also got to admit, Luke can be whiny and annoying sometimes. You are a Jedi, Luke. Suck it up and Just Do It. Yoda was right when he said he couldn't train Luke because Luke is a pussy: no mental discipline, can't follow orders and instructions. Then when Rey finds him and hands him his light saber, he just tossed it over it his shoulder. Mmmm Mmmm What an Asshole!! Obi-Wan and Yoda should had trained Leia instead of Luke. |
