Hi zcarenow,
VMware Workstation 9 will run on Windows or Linux, but not OSX. Macbook Pro users can use the application when they start up (via bootcamp) with either of those two operating systems: the hardware is compatible. PS: I have not installed it, so I suggest you wait for the advice of someone who has.

The Mac-Product you are looking for is 'VMware Fusion' and the current Version 5.03 runs very smoothly on OSX 10.8.4.
I have several Virtual Machines running (XP, Win7, Ubuntu, Debian and others). You can run it an a MacBook Pro without problems, but i recommend at least 4 GB RAM if you don't want to fall asleep. Any particular OS or program you want to run? |

Hi, Alexora, Oni9b
Ok. Thanks for the info. Still deciding...might end up getting a Lenovo Y series. I plan to run it on Win 7...i heard also that running it on laptops might cause issues with drivers getting to work especially people doing nested VMs. I've been told to get 8gig memory minimum or it will crawl, preferably 16gig mem. |
