48h Post count limit is forum wide, seems wrong
I just realized that 50 posts in 48h limit is forum wide. It seems wrong that posts would count in all sections toward that limit. I imagine the limit is intended mostly for uploaders. Even though I only post 0day hd videos and I try to only upload top quality content I occasionally hit this limit.
Anyway, I tried to reply to some thread in computer help section and got the error: Quote:
It seems more reasonable that posts in help and general sections and some of the entertainment forums shouldn't count toward this limit. It doesn't really bother me much as I am not that active in other sections but I imagine there is some people affected by this. Like if someone would hope to progress in rank they are supposed to be active in more forum sections, welcome new members etc. But if they are active uploaders as well they are gonna have trouble with these limits. |

Nice try son,
That post made me chuckle. You have made in the last 12 months exactly 8 posts in General Forum and Help. 3 were requests for modifications on the allowed host rule and 2 were posts in the panic thread as Suzy was down and your earnings dropped. I would say this 48 hour limit was introduced to slow down users, posters, uploaders, mass posters like YOU. and just for information: reports are for free. They don't count as posts and against the 48 hour limit. Sounds reasonable. |

You didn't mention clicking the thanks button. There's no forum-wide limit on that... |

I already mentioned in my post that I am not very active in other categories and that issue doesn't effect me that much and that I am aware why limits are there. Don't see why there was any need to "expose" me as a mass poster. And I never said that limit is too low, it should be changed or anything like that. My point was that posts in some sections shouldn't count toward that limit. Like general and help sections. I imagine there is people who'd like to contribute both by posting their uploads and posting some joke, welcoming new user etc. But I am glad I gave some people a chance to stick it to the mass posters @ Seven Churches, No I wasn't aware of what the limit was at all times and believe it or not I've thanked at least 95% of posts I read and found useful. Do I read a lot of other threads or posts, no. Do I click thanks just to boost the number, no. Well don't expect me to keep discussing this as it is going toward my limit. |

(mods/admins) density on the Internet and they do it for free (hats off). I can't see any need for anyone to post above limit since there is no forum chat here where you can get drunk and just post away. |

If you cant get by on 50 posts a day your uploading too much material.

Reason: correcting inaccuracy
(50 posts in 48 hours) I've seen the non-content areas get abused in the past where uploaders post quick fire throw away comments in related topics simply to draw attention to the thread links in their signature that they've recently updated. Limits across the forum have their role to play Unlimited anything almost universally leads to too much pressure on those trying to moderate it. |
