I'm relatively new to posting so this may be a stupid question. Why is there a limit on the number of required hosts in a post? It's currently set to no more than two required hosts in a post.

Looking at the Best File Hosts poll, some people would like to host files on the top five hosts. Am I missing something? Feel free to PM me if it's easier to explain in private.

That leaves other posters to use required hosts.
Remember, without a valid required host, you cannot post (at PATM where I am familiar with, and most of all sections here).
In standard video section, things are bit more restricted in that even different size/resolution files count as one same post. So, if maximum of four required hosts use in one post is allowed and once the earliest poster makes his post, then no one will be able to post anything for the scene. Things get worse because even when there will be dead link(s) in his post, others cannot post unless they PM him to ask if he is willing to re-up on the dead link host(s) or agrees on giving up for them to use. He still has the right to re-up.

The idea is to disperse the risk of dead links as much as possible by sharing hosts with some posters. Not clearly stated, but I think it is the idea.
