Lib. There are probably many ways to do this, but I use Avidemux. There is a version for Mac which you can DL here
http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/download.html and it is free . Basic instructions 1. Open Avidemux. 2. Click File, Open..., go to the folder where your clip is and open it. If you get dialog boxes saying You should use Tool Rebuild frame. Do it now? or similar click yes. 3. At the bottom of the window move the slider to the start of where you want to extract the audio and click the A or selection start icon. Then move the slider to the finish point and select the B or selection finish icon. 4. On the left hand side of the window click the drop down selection under Audio and select MP3 Lame. Click the configure button below if you want to adjust bitrate etc. 5. Go to the Audio menu at the top of the window and select Save.... Choose the location where you want to save the audio and give the file a name. Remember to include .mp3 after the filename as Avidemux will not do it automatically. Click Save and it should extract your audio as an mp3 file. One thing. You might have to DL the MP3 Lame codec seperatley. For legal reasons some progs like Avidemux are not allowed to include them with their software. You can DL it here http://lame.sourceforge.net/ If the codec is not included with Avidemux software, Avidemux will probably ask you where the MP3 Lame encoder is located the first time you try to save an .mp3 file. If it does, use the browse button to locate where you have saved the MP3 Lame encoder, after that it will know where to locate it. Last thing. I use the Windows version, so there may well be differences with the Mac version. Fingers crossed. It is actually very easy once you have done it once. Give me a shout if you have any problems. Good luck. |
