as a last resort ...i have opened seemingly undeletable file with text edit (it may take 5min to load)
then select all the text and press delete...then save file...next move to trash and empty ......jrollin |

jrollin, if you do that, you're still leaving the data on disk. The "file", (the pointer to the header of the file) may be gone, but the data is still there. You need to wipe free space.

To wipe the free space on a disk, I've been using an app called WipeFS.

Try Eraser 6.0 (an old version), or Recuva, by the folks that make CCleaner.
