I like it because in football all player have equal chance of showing their mettle. And more over it is a very vastly playing game which is very ancient also.

It has action (unlike golf)and isn't extremely fast paced (unlike basketball, hockey and soccer). Also, people are constantly moving (unlike baseball, golf).

So basically, it doesn't move so slow that it bores you, like golf, but it isn't so fast that you can sometimes hardly tell what is going on (like basketball and hockey). Plus, you can clearly see when they score without having to look closely (unlike hockey).

It's just exhilarating, watching a good game of football is similar to listening to good music, or reading a good book, it just enthrals you, and leaves you in awe of the footballers that play, when you realise how much skill and talent they have!!

Going to a game is an amazing experience, literally a good game is like 90minutes of goosebumps from adrenaline! Nothing is more gripping IMO.

I love it because I just do. It is simply the most fun sport to watch. The amazing passes, catches, turnovers, crazy tackles....it's just great fun. The energy is addictive.

And when you love a team, you DO feel like you know them (although of course, you don't really). I think there is something ancient and tribal in wanting your guys to prove their prowess, but in a much more productive way than actually, you know, killing each other.

I was born, grew up, went to school etc etc in Leeds, so they were my naturally my team. Like you say, if you're brought up in a football town, your local team is your team and there are no choices to be made.

It is generally frowned upon, certainly in England, if you support a different team to your local team. If you're born and grow up in Hartlepool, they're your team, if its York, then York are your team.

Football has been the favorit sport of my family. My grandpa was a football fanatic. He walked more than 10 km just to see a match in the city he was raised and sometimes he brought my father with him. Soon enough, my grandpa turned his son to a football lover.
