Well, WinZip has stopped the free ride, any unzip suggestions?

for about 10 years for winzip before i moved to 7zip, then onto linux, now i just unrar.

Z-Zip will extract all winrar files regardless of version.

Sounds like you're using and older WinRar. Some new files are encoded RAR4 format which requires WinRar 5 to unarchive. Personally, I use WinRar for everything except z7 files and use 7zip exclusively for those. I haven't seen and ACE archives in a long time but I do keep a copy of WinAce for them in case someone decides to surprise me

Long back I used WinRAR as that's the one came with my desktop in 2007. But the buy me pop up was irrirating, and I used cracked version.

Now I use 7 Zip - free ware ! Works smooth!

some zips/rars I've downloaded, were taking forever to open with winrar. found when I used 7zip? They opened smooth and fast. winrar has been telling me forever my 30 day trial will be up, lol. who cares until they do actually stop working. It's like when using the free bulk image downloader. yeah it's a pain in the ass to keep waiting another minute but, better then paying for it. lol. I wish every forum made a free image downloader, like one forum does.

it pays to have a bad memory. i thought i was using winzip all these years, but a quick check reveals it is winRAR. no memory whatsoever DLing/installing ANY unzipper in years, so i was about to agree with the poster who said it musta "come with the PC", but i see now that the install date is 2019, which is like 7 years newer than the PC. so i guess i got this consciously.

either way, i haven't seen one ad the entire time -- 1 year or 8 years -- so...um...i dunno. did i crack this as well?!

i need serious fish oil.
