Here's a cool story: King Diamond recently played his first ever show in Mexico and was recognized by the Mexican government for his music career and contributions to universal culture. The award was presented by the Technical Secretary to the Presidential staff. King posted these pics on Facebook. I believe that's the Technical Secretary in the second pic.

I grew up listening to Deep Purple, who I personally consider the Fathers of Metal. After that I got Igot into Sabbath and Priest. And while everyone tells me they're not technically metal I've been a big fan of Monster Magnet since I discovered them back in 95

Ok, I'm no fan of power metal and kind of that stuff with distorted guitars in combination with all in all clean vocals, so I do recommend you to listen to this track - great album indeed:

Really excited to learn that Dark Angel have reformed and are working on a new album. Can't wait for this one to drop.
I'm also getting withdrawals for a new King Diamond album. It's been 10 years since the last one and now that he's fully recovered from his health issues, I keep hoping for any news on that front. So far he's been concentrating on touring and playing festivals rather than recording. |
