'Ripoffbate' (Recurbate) Alternatives?

I've always liked Recurbate for their exhaustive collections of Chaturbate shows, as well as the outstanding resolution of the videos.

However their 'bandwidth management' is horrible, probably due to their not shelling out the money for it. Which selfish parsimony brings us to their greatest flaw.

The more popular a model is (that's what they told me), the more likely she is to be moved to the 'Extra' video category. You can pay pretty hefty 'Premium' membership fees at 20$ a month, discounted somewhat for longer periods--but forego the very high 'Ultimate' level rates a 30$ a month--then suddenly see your favorite girl moved and now you can't watch or download jackshit.

Also, their downloads are HORRIBLE, constantly failing, and rarely can you resume downloading a file. With today's HD quality webcams, that means you'll have to try and try again--and if your internet service charges for higher bandwidth, it's going to cost you!

I've tried Camvault but their coverage is spotty, Recordbate has decent coverage but lower definition, and the old CamGirlCaps has closed.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm fine with piracy but at least I'm not a big hypocrite about it. These cam piracy sites steal content from Chaturbate and resell it for profit. You're stealing money from the original performers.

Google routinely scans and removes piracy sites from their search results. Choose a shitty search engine like Bing and do a search for your favorite performer + "cam" and you'll find many alternatives to Recurbate.

Alternatively, do a Google search and start browsing through the DMCA complaints that list which sites were removed from the search results and go there.

There is a difference between watching a stream vs. downloading a copy of the video. Your description shows you're watching a stream which is choppy and cuts out. Learn how to download the video properly.

Once again, don't call a site a ripoff for taking your money when you're ripping off the original creators.

A stream is always FREE for anybody to watch, so how do I rip off somebody when I want to rewatch it - you guess it - for FREE?

Yes, exactly. I too have supported my favorite models in a variety of ways. And actually, through many years involvement in the adult industries, I have done a great deal to aid the women, financially and otherwise.

Since I posted that, I've greatly improved my internet service and have had much greater luck with the downloads. Though the Recurbate server or whatever still will cause a download to fail fairly frequently, it's easy to just either resume or restart it.

However they do keep jacking up the prices and finding ways to charge extra, or rather coerce the members to 'upgrade' their memberships.. The greed is getting out of control.

They also have many models who are in a special 'extra' category. Regular members will see a 'unavailable' tab, and cannot download them. I sent an e-mail asking why and they gave me some bullshit about the really popular models had to be, for some contrived reason. I suspect the REAL reason a lot of them are listed as 'unavailable', or 'extra' to premium members, is that those camgirls have told them to stop posting their shit. I know for a fact one has, who is in that category.

A while after I started this thread, I opted for a year's membership. So there's still some time to figure out alternatives.

I find it amusing that the website in question has had it's domain seized and that's not the topic of discussion when the thread is bumped a year later. As far as I can tell it's not the piracy aspect of the website that they went after, it's the similarity of the domain name. My guess is that's on the advice of lawyers, and complaining about likeness is easier to go after legally than piracy. R3cturbate has been around for years (2011?) and yet Ch@turbate only sent a cease-and-desist letter in August 2023. I wonder if they were noticing a financial hit as more and more people discovered the existence of R3cturbate. The live show uploads were abundant on Sp@nkbang.

Since it's a domain seizure and not on the grounds of piracy, I wonder if the people behind R3cturbate will just create a new domain under the same model. Maybe they could call it baitandswitch dot com.

I've long suspected some sort of agreement at least, or collaboration between Chaturbate and Recurbate. Partly because of the superior quality video. But who knows?

As for the domain seizure, yes I remember that, but the reply was accusing me of hyprocrisy so I focused more on that. There's plenty more to discuss about Recurbate, if the interest was there.

My first reply was deleted by the mods as a 'personal attack'. Which is fine, since my reaction to YOUR personal attack accusing me of being a "big hypocrite" was certainly not respectful--since you didn't merit any whatsoever.

Bull****. Recurbate posts recordings of FREE SHOWS, not PPV videos or PRIVATE SHOWS FOR MONEY. I'm not 'stealing' JACK****.

Again, bull****. I wasn't 'watching a stream', but trying to download files. Connection issues and dated equipment, since replaced, were contributing factors. Server issues on the part of Recurbate being another major factor. Their downloads still fail regularly, especially the larger files. However, repeating the download usually works.

Learn how to reply to posts with some RESPECT, and you might get some in return...

Once again, I haven't 'ripped off' anyone by downloading FREE BROADCASTS. Don't presume to lecture me concerning moral standpoints about downloading content, in a forum dedicated to downloading content from private sites without paying.

I am starting to think that the seizure of R3cturbate is maybe having an effect on Ch@turbate financially. Over the last few months I have noticed more and more Ch@turbate women joining and uploading content to clip sites like M@nyvids. Perhaps a lot of the people who watched and/or tipped on live shows were happy to do so knowing they could download the show once the live stream ended. Now that they can't, it doesn't seem like such a good transaction. I haven't been on Ch@turbate since the seizure of R3cturbate.

I've done that on occasion, tipped the girl in free shows to get what I wanted to see, but only when using a screen recorder. It sure would be easier to not have to mess with recording it. lol

I suspect some of the effect you noticed might simply be that more girls are trying different venues. I'm in the adult entertainment business (not webcam), and this year has been hard for a lot of industry people.

But who knows? Maybe your theory about the effect is more valid than that.
