Thoughts on Smackdown
1.) After a recap of Big Show helping the Rhodes Brothers win the WWE Tag Team Championships, the show starts with Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox. Vickie regurgitating the stuff from RAW's main event, and saying that she will maintain order, have DISCIPLINE! Helping her in this is Brad Maddox, hence his involvement. He said he stationed security around the arena, assuring that Big Show won't sneak in. Vickie got the mic and said that the GMs want to thank Hunter and Steph for relying on them to run Smackdown. Brad thanked the fans, and thankfully, Daniel Bryan interrupts. Daniel Bryan wanted to join in waving the banner of what's best for business, suggesting him winning WWE Championship against Randall. For some reason he yelled "Hell in a Cell," and Shawn Michaels' name. That's something that makes me wonder. How come every time there's something meant to be emphasized, it's done with screaming? "X vs A," normal tone, stipulation, louder tone. It kept up as Bryan implied Big Show's in the building. A 7 foot, sasquatch like creature. THE BIG SHOW, SCREAM! Show's music played, but Bryan was joking. So being for real he introduces CODY RHODES AND GOLDUST! They come out, and one can't forget that Vickie has the screaming thing by the book. I DEMAND ORDER, DISCIPLINE. Then she laughed loud after booking the 3 "renegades" against The Shield. A good way to summarize this segment was regurgitate, talk, interrupt, talk, scream, talk, scream, talk, introduction, scream, scream, talk, scream, laugh, end. The Rhodes Brothers didn't talk, so they don't count. Therefore, Maddox was the only guy that didn't yell. Hmmm. It was okay, but I don't feel like hearing people scream and raise their voice. 2.) A fan had a sign that said "Kofe you rock." HAHAHA! Eric Rowan and Luke Harper team up against Kofi Kingston and The Miz. Notice the entrance of the Family, you don't see them walking. They have them already in the ring, Bray on his knees, being able to stand up, and move a bit. Then sit on his rocking chair. They are definitely hiding Bray's injury, and the guy's lucky. Because his gimmick involves presence and a lot of talking, and production team's magic, he can stay on TV while being injured. Plus a faction, and the fact that Harper and Rowan wrestled more matches than Bray to begin with. The match was unique because there was no hot tag. Traditional in tag matches where a face that waits on the apron for a long time, gets the tag and comes in like a house of fire. Miz would've been that guy, but Rowan forced him off the apron, bringing him down. Kofi was left alone, and couldn't mount any offense, Harper clotheslined his head off. I liked that, experience wins. Bray got the mic and said some stuff. Taking away Miz's world, mentioning a "her," I suppose Abigail. Tough talk for a man who can't walk... 3.) It's necessary to make a funny, well, at least try. The reason being the frustration felt here. AJ Lee vs. Brie Bella. The first bothersome thing, Brie hit a straight right hand to AJ. A shot to the head, right after the woman got cleared to wrestle from a concussion. Might be overreacting, but that's just not being safe. The second bothersome thing is just the consistency. For most of the match, AJ works on the bandaged shoulder of Brie Bella. This was worked on from RAW by Tamina. So a target, AJ exploited it. Yeah there's the obligatory babyface comeback, and that was perfectly fine. The finish contradicted everything. Alright, Nikki and Brie felt Tamina coming for the former. So Nikki dodged Tamina charging at her. AJ tried to roll Brie up, that didn't work. Then Brie, injured shoulder and all, did her fucking finisher and pinned AJ. Ugh. 4.) What the fuck? Big Show just waltzes through the crowd, and makes his way to the ring. Not only that, he gets a damn mic. Where the fucking shit is security? Oh, don't tell me that an autographed ticket from Daniel Bryan allows this rebel rouser to enter the ring and use a mic. You stupid mark! Seriously though, if Big Show's booked like a free man, there has to be an explanation. Going back to me typing once that Vince can come back, reveal that he okayed Big Show coming in and everything. Show thanked the fans and stuff, Vickie and Brad interrupting of course. They are angry, Brad said some shit, Show knocked him out. Since when did Big Show's balls went from non-existent to Randy Marsh pothead/testicular cancer size? Decent segment, it's just character development for Big Show. He can't be a crybaby forever. To nitpick though, Big Show's untouchable for a "fired" wrestler? That really shouldn't be, but ah well... 5.) CM Punk takes on Big E. Langston. With no Jerry Lawler in this match, this opened up for commentary to really put Langston over. Their previous match on RAW weeks ago wasn't good on a commentary perspective. Less heads, more commentating on the wrestlers. They mentioned Langston's impressive weightlifting background, breaking national records, in a weight class that prohibits weightlifting belts, shirts, basically, raw. Despite this strength background, Langston showed solid wrestling skills in the match. Using a half crab, briefly working on Punk's left leg. Overall the match featured more offense from Langston. Punk giving the guy more room, as well as the simple fact that's a longer match. One special thing about Langston is being one of the better sellers of the GTS. He takes the knee square in the face, which can't be pleasant for most guys. Mentioning that, yeah, CM Punk won. Very nice match, both guys worked well together. This is the thing, I think it's more solid, has more flow, and more consistent, than CM Punk vs. The Ryback. That's right. 6.) So by saying that, segue to Heyman interfering on the stage. He's with The Ryback and Axel. He said Punk beat a "decent, marginally talented rookie from NXT." Oh really? He moves better than The Ryback, he might be stronger than The Ryback, and he's got speed. The Ryback's clunky, if that makes sense. Heyman said other stuff, confident in the Hell in a Cell match, CM Punk replied also with sureness in his voice. Using "Cell" and "Hell" for referencing on what will happen at the actual match. Heyman replied to the latter, quoting AC/DC! Then saying they will show Punk Hell, personally. 2 on 1, Heyman watches. CM Punk's in trouble, and then Langston comes in? He turned face! That's it, pair him and The Ryback together. Show the contrasts in both guys, and potentially proving that Langston's better than The Ryback. He and Punk teamed up together and sent Mr. Back and Axel out of the ring. Great stuff, and going by Langston being so over as a face in NXT, being a face is a blessing for the guy. 7.) Alberto Del Rio in the ring with Josh Matthews for an interview. They show who Del Rio will wrestle at Hell in a Cell. The first Cena video from RAW, he's coming back soon. Del Rio talked about him being Mexican, saying he's better than the "gringos." No Mexican passion, and he painted Cena as the "gringo" leader. Oh so turning this into a nationality battle? Why? Del Rio actually used JBL's "Mexico's greatest export" nickname. He said Cena's going soft, but his ego keeps growing? He said that after he beats Cena, the guy will end up like the other gringos. A "nobody." Juanito! That's the best part of his promo, calling Cena, "Juanito." He showed Juanito Cena what he will do to him. Cross armbreaker to Josh Matthews. Ah yeah! That's a great point, Del Rio's signature submission move, going after Cena's arm. That's smart storytelling, and it's convenient too because it was Cena's left tricep muscle. Just by mentioning the injury and Del Rio's finisher, it makes Cena's otherwise random, sudden world title shot against 'Berto, logical. 8.) The Usos vs. The Real Americans. Zeb Colter was on commentary, talking about the problems he has with Los Matadores. He also referencing Del Rio's promo, what with the swollen Mexican pride in it. Yeah, Zeb was right all along, hehehe. However, is he right about Los Matadores? He implied that Los Matadores snuck across the border, capitalizing on the US Government shutdown. Yeah, they debut, the Government was shut down during that time. Then he accused them of kidnapping El Torito, and hiding that by making him wear the bull costume! Funny commentary overall with Zeb. The wrestling was alright, and Cesaro did the Swing on one of the Usos. That move is more over than Zack Ryder, more over than Dolph Ziggler these days. Teehee. Suddenly, when the Real Americans were in control, Los Matadores do their entrance. This bothers Zeb Colter, as he left the booth to confront the three. El Torito "gored" Zeb in the front, then hitting his ass. Think about it. A midget dressed in a bull costume headbutting the ass of an old man. Only in the WWE! The Usos took advantage of Swagger being distracted, and they got the win. JBL turned heel on El Torito, being mad that the little guy attacked Zeb Colter, a "war hero." Good! JBL marking out for the little guy can get pretty annoying. Nice tag match, I assume at Hell in a Cell that Los Matadores will wrestle the Real Americans. 9.) Regurgitation and accusations of Daniel Bryan being in over his head. Randall Orton I mean, getting on the stage to deliver a promo after Bryan made his entrance. The regurgitation in mentioning Shawn Michaels, saying that he's had problems with HBK. As if HBK didn't say that on RAW. The latter had the guy claiming Bryan's overconfident, thinking he will beat Randall in Hell in a Cell. Those two aspects in the promo, it was a decent promo from Randall. It would've been better if Randall described what he did in the Trainer's Room on RAW. Maybe even lie, touting that he scared the shit out of Brie and Nikki. That then would've played into Bryan's head, affecting the performance in the main event. 10.) Which takes place after the promo. Knowing that The Shield lost big time on RAW, I got the feeling that they'd redeem themselves in this match. Somehow, and of course uncleanly. I was thinking Randall interfering, or hell, a DQ finish. I didn't get any of that. Instead, I got a pretty good match, but very familiar. Until the end. These 6 men did battle on RAW after Battleground. Not too hard to remember. The format was Cody and Dustin being dominated for a good portion of the match, Daniel Bryan gets the hot tag and comes in like a house of fire. Chaos ensues where all the non-legal men have a big melee. Those participants are neutralized, leaving Daniel Bryan against a Shield member. On that RAW, it was him and Seth Rollins. On this show, it was him and Dean Ambrose. The only difference is the end. Bryan wasn't RKO'd by Randall, therefore the guy couldn't be pinned. A tiny bit surprising that the match went with the faces winning. The moment that was thought to be pivotal was Rollins powerbombing Cody onto Dustin, sending both brothers over the announce table. That left Bryan alone. Reigns was already out after inadvertently spearing the ring steps, Rollins and Ambrose were outside to take a Bryan suicide dive. Ambrose the legal man got hit with the knee that beat John Cena cleanly, and that's it. The Shield's bad week continues, which I try not to worry. Think of the future where they could just redeem themselves. After all, the story is there, because it'd be redeeming themselves in the eyes of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. D-Bryan gets the win in a nice close to the show. Next up is a contract signing. Cole announced it on commentary before the main event. He mentioned the principal names that will be on RAW, but I wonder if all of them will be in that one contract signing. Daniel Bryan, Randall, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon. It would make sense. The two challengers, the referee, and the authority figures presiding over WWE and the WWE Championship situation. |

No two PPVs for October like this year, but that's moved to June. That's good though, because now they have at least 4 weeks to build each big PPV: Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble.
Quote:
The HHH interview with Cole on Wednesday was awesome. It was because the whole segment is Hunter putting Cole in his place! It's from the guy's bad journalism job, reporting Hunter being killed by Big Show. Cole's questions was on what happened in the main event of RAW. His only answers were that he'd address Paul Wight (formerly the Big Show, according to Hunter), and the Rhodes Brothers on RAW. Cole expected more. Cole then suggested what HHH should've done, having Big Show arrested. The face that HHH was making, was incredible. You could just feel that he's getting angry. Then he decided to ask Cole a question. Regarding Big Show knocking Hunter out... Credit to Michael Cole though, he played the role of scared man being owned, well. Hunter asked another question... I got it, he implied that he's the Devil, and he will drive Cole until he can't take interviewing him anymore. Better shape up Michael, remember who made you the "voice of the WWE." Hunter said that, implying that he's the guy that called for Cole to be that voice. It actually was Vince, but shhhh... This week on the JBL & Cole Show, it opened with Kofi trying to tell Hornswoggle that he's hearing voices in his head. They counsel him, they understand, they talk to him. Errr, they scare him. There's going to be a "Halloween" special next week. The World Tour's in Kansas City, at the Donut King shop ran by referee John Cone. Cole and Renee were waiting on JBL, but they came in the shop and see that the man's already there. John Cone appears and explains that he has a problem. A "bull in the donut shop." El Torito. And him having a boner for Renee Young. He wanted to bang her, but to calm the bull down are Los Matadores. Cole, JBL, and Renee mentioned a scenario of Tensai on a wrecking ball, naked? Xavier Woods, the man that JBL apparently doesn't know, reacts. His magical powers sent Tensai to a different place. Then this guy came! |

They should bring back king of the ring since there are two in June. It can be a useful gimmick for somebody. King Curtis Axel.

I hate how Royal Rumble is always towards the end of January so we have to wait and wait and wait for it. That PPV sells itself, they don't need tons of buildup.

I'm hoping Cena has a title so he wont be in the royal rumble. I think it is very unlikely he will win again no matter what.
be cool if they could talk Brock Lesnar into the match. he wins and instead of going for the title, he gets Undertaker. Let me be your fantasy. The idea of Bryan or CM Punk winning the royal rumble means Bryan most likely will lose next Sunday. something for me to think about. I haven't thought much about a winner yet. I want to say Bryan. If I was booking. I would manage to have Bryan vs Orton going until the end of the year. Just increase the stakes every match. I'd have them swimming with sharks by December. Hell in a cell should be their last match for a while. |

Would be gr8 to watch Big E beat the crap out of Axel.
Quite frankly, Axel has done nothing significant with the IC title and it's time for him to drop it soon. Preferably at HIAC if it happens. Juanito Cena FTW! In Del Rio's words, all hail the ultimate Gringo!

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the Heyman/Punk saga is dragging on too long? It feels as if the storyline is wasting time until Brock returns to smash Heyman, Ryback and Punk later at either Survivor Series or Wrestlemania.
I like that face turn for Big E. He's pretty funny on twitter and good on NXT as a face. I also can't help but think that Xavier Woods will end up being called up sooner, rather than later. El Torito X Renee. OTP. The more I watch ADR, the more he reminds me of a lesser Bret Hart. Great in the ring, but dry on the mic. He can't get face pops and he can't draw heat. Hart at least connected with the crowd. I love that Tamina is being used as the Diesel to AJ's Micheals. I also don't get why Wyatt is targeting Miz. If he's going after people we love, shouldn't his target be Bryan or Cena?

Bray Wyatt is targeting The Miz because he is the the biggest star that is not doing anything else. I think that must be it. Miz is loved to WWE.

I want to see CM Punk vs Paul Heyman go on longer. The final match should be at Wrestlemania 30. Only joking. Yes, it is definitely on life support. the real ending was the 2 vs 1, but they kept going. I wouldn't be shocked if it still isn't over after Sunday. I don't read twitter, but just on TV, Big E has seemed likeable, more than Ryback. I hope they make good use of him now. I guess the intercontinental title would be a good start. I want to see Ryback vs Ryblack. remember everybody was calling him that. idiots Raw tonight Quote:
I don't know if I can watch this live. I want to see how Triple H will deal with Big Show. The only thing left to get the biggest pop would be a ko punch to Stephanie. Don't tell me you don't want to see that. Big Show is now saying he doesn't care, so obviously Tripper is going to something totally evil! |

With Langston's face turn, yeah he should take the IC title from Axel. 4 months and no long lasting steam. Then Heyman will avenge the loss by sending The Ryback after Langston and setting up that clash. |
