That makes our "not actual real world jobs" a lot easier. Yes, I have a real world job in tech that I am grateful for in some respects is essential now but I have been working 12 hour days for a while as I know other staff at other forums have been doing during these difficult times while still dealing with increased activity on these forums every day.

Please consider that you have no idea who at this forum may be doing this as a volunteer but may actually be a front line worker in this current crisis. It's not just doctors and nurses. It's IT pros like me maintaining essential businesses while keeping my people as safe from harm as I can, it's COO's like my wife trying to keep workers safe while ramping up production of critically needed medical devices and newly developed devices to help while changing the actual manufacturing processes to keep her people healthy, to my daughter putting in 14 hour days, 7 days a week to get testing going and ramped up to full potential capacity in less than 2 weeks.

We're all doing the best we can here and we're no different than you in real life and we are trying to deal with both realities as best we know how given we all live in unknown territory in real life.

I would edit this rule "3d. DO NOT post links requiring registration or premium subscription to download." till you give another host for free user or same file in two method.
Now people downloads 10gb single file at once, so forcing posters rar is backdated.

Regardless of file size or host used, premium links only are not and will never be allowed period. Any file that is uploaded and posted here, must be available for free users to download and we will not change that rule because it goes totally against the reason why this forum was started and even exists. I can also guarantee that the traffic at this forum which is needed to keep this forum online will drop like a rock and this forum would probably cease to exist because people would go elsewhere.

If anyone is posting single 10GB links on many of the hosts that are popular with posters, that's ridiculous because most will have problems even getting the download to finish. It's especially ridiculous when I could upload a 10GB single file to the host I use and most would get it in 10 minutes or less with a fast connection.

huh? aren't these 2 statements in direct opposition?

i can't get a file over 300M or so to complete, so it doesn't affect me. but i can't parse that last paragraph.

What host are you referring to ?? If it's a cash host, then what I stated has nothing to do with your issue that I know of.

I am not a cash host poster. I use 1fichier as my primary host and even without being logged in as premium account member, I can download a file that size with no issues at all as a free user. Even if you have an issue with your connection, you can get the file in a decent amount of time with jdownloader2 because the host resumes failed downloads.

You failed to comprehend the following:

1. I have been uploading and posting full movies for 14 years and counting. I started doing this when forums were about spending your own money and making no money doing it. That's why these forums originally were created.

2. I still spend my own money to maintain a premium account at a decent host for free users as well as spending my own money at times to obtain original content to post and I do not make not one penny in return.

I have uploaded large files to my account for friends who do not have premium accounts with my host, and they always are able to get them with no issues.

If this doesn't make sense to you, then I don't know what else to tell you.
