i've never even HEARD of a 24 hr rule -- what forum in that in?!

i'm only online once/wk or (recently) once/month. so when i get here i serial post like 15 things in a row!

is that now a no-no?

That rule is only for some megathread sections like General Porn, Kinky, AGOG, etc, to avoid users flooding and/or bumping threads continously.

This rule :

07a. Do not post more than once in the same thread during a 24 hour period.

Any amount of posts exceeding the specified number of posts allowed is considered flooding in addition to a violation of the specified 24 hour waiting time.

Correct. Do not confuse the One Hour Posting Rule, applicable to most sections allowing personal threads, with the 24 Hour Rule, applicable to Image Themes threads.

No one is exempt from the 24 Hour rule. VIP and Hall of Fame members are exempt from the One Hour Rule, however we discourage abusive thread bumping by any members.

My point here was not about revoking the rule. I do understand the idea behind it. My idea was more like: "keep the 1 hour posting window, but make the 24 hour period start from your first post in a day, so we can start making our posts at the same hour we did yesterday".

When I made my comment, I had forgotten that there was another rule known as "24 Hour Rule". I never posted on the image threads, so this is probably one reason why I didn't remeber that other rule. My first post was totally unambitious. I didn't expect it to escalate into a full debate between members. Sorry about that, I shoud've explained better my idea.

You are correct. Soon after we published the One Hour Rule, we realized the unintended inconvenience. Members visiting the forum at the same time daily, could not add posts to the same thread. For example if a member posts in thread y on Monday from 7:00pm - 8:00pm; that member returning at 7:00pm on Tuesday should not start posting until 8:00pm.

We decided not to change the rule's application for two reasons. First, if a member arrives at 7:00pm, there is no reason they can't finish posting by 7:20pm. Second, all moderators will give members a 15-20 minute grace period before enforcing the One Hour Rule, so members really can start posting at, or soon after the same time every day. In the event a member's posting time keeps creeping later and later, they can take a day off and start early on their next visit.

Sorry. That was programmed into the hack/addon by the original developer.

Sysadmin is focused on the mission of keeping the forum running smoothly to keep it online and there is no interest in changing or adding anything at this forum unless it is absolutely necessary at this time.

Nothing can be changed here unless staff Admin has access to it and we have to take into account that something that we have the ability to change may have a negative impact on forum performance as a whole if we make the change.

I am never being stubborn or showing reluctance to ask when I make posts like this either. I'm just giving you the true facts as they are.

(to the point that i would leave typos in rather than correct a post with that affixed)

i get wanting to note that something's been edited, but a more subtle/hidden place would be welcome. like up by the DATE, similar to facebook.

affixing it down the bottom just looks UGLY.....
