Wow!!! Joanna Jedrzejczyk looked awesome against Jessica Andrade. Right up there with the best MMA striking skills I've ever seen. Props to Andrade for heart and durability - but skills win out every time.

Yeah, Joanna is a bad motherfucker. Doubt she'll lose, her only real challenger is Gadelha, but she already won both fights. Maybe Rose Namajunas can have some success, she's improving fast.
Andrade is the female version of John Lineker. Brave, resilient and powerful but predictable.

I agree - don't see Joanna losing any time soon if she maintains that kind of form. But then again it is the fight game and it only takes one lucky strike to take out a champion. While Rose is pretty fiesty I just don't think she's even close to Joanna.

Bad news about Matt Hughes.

UFC legend Matt Hughes was seriously injured in a train accident Friday, the Illinois State Police confirmed.

A truck Hughes was driving was struck by a train in Raymond, Ill., at about 10:45 a.m., per a police release. Hughes was transported to a hospital in Springfield, Ill., by airlift.

UFC president Dana White informed ESPN.com about the accident earlier Friday.

Per the release, Hughes approached a “railroad grade crossing marked with crossbucks” in a pickup truck. The truck crossed the tracks “directly in front of a train and the train struck the passenger side of the truck.”

The Illinois State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the crash.

"Apparently he has head trauma," White told ESPN. "His family is traveling to him now."

The UFC tweeted a graphic, signifying Hughes is in its thoughts Friday.

Good it was from passengers side. At least that gave him a chance. Hope he pulls through and it's not life threatening head trauma anymore.

Matt Hughes - update

Matt Hughes is “awake and responsive” one day after being seriously injured in a truck-train crash Friday morning, his longtime manager Monte Cox told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani on Saturday.

Cox, who is speaking directly with Hughes’ brother Mark, said family and doctors are “optimistic and hopeful” about Hughes’ condition.

“He is awake, but eyes closed,” Cox said. “Can squeeze hands.”

Hughes, 43, was driving a pickup truck Friday morning in Raymond, Ill. Per the Illinois State Police, the legendary UFC fighter approached a “railroad grade crossing marked with crossbucks” in the truck. The truck crossed the tracks “directly in front of a train and the train struck the passenger side of the truck,” according to the police release.

Hughes was seriously injured in the crash and airlifted to HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Ill. The hospital wrote in a statement Friday night that its trauma team had stabilized Hughes and “continues to help him in his recovery.”

Yep Matt was one of the good guys for sure. I was going to post about this when I heard it announced during the recent Fight night Holm Vs Correia.
I hope he fully recovers from that accident.

BTW ~ If your a MMA Fan and want to see that Fight night that just happened this past Saturday (which was ONLY available from the UFC site, Fight pass)

You can search for it as UFC Fight Night 111 If you tried to find it (like I did) and search for it as the two fighters names you will not likely find it.

I didn't even realize that the Fight Night shows were numbered like the PPV are. I just figured they would be listed with the two fighters names from the main event of the night.

The main card was fantastic from Fight Night 111...a must see if you love watching MMA.

Bellator delivered. Very good night of fights. Main card was so much drama, so good.

Huge upset, great WW title fight, weird injury that show'd Chandlers warrior heart, double knockdown, back and forth main event.

I enjoyed it so much.

Agree with pretty much everything you said. Mitrione v Emelianenko was just crazy stuff, and Sonnen looked like a savage. I also really enjoyed the Neiman Gracie vs Dave Marfone fight. Nice to see Gracie BJJ in action again.
