We are 30 days away from the 4th anniversary of the opening post of this thread, and we are still waiting for any of our Mac using members to report being infected by a virus. Can anyone here sincerely say that the same applies to Windoze users?

Most users would probably not even know, most people are computer illiterate but they can surf for porn or send an email.

I've been, but that was on 10.5.8, spyware stuff based on browser or Java VM, don't know for sure

Well, it's been almost four years since you made this statement. Does this qualify as "a few years"?

During this time, I haven't installed any antivirus protection, have suffered no problems, and not a single member has posted in this thread to report they have experienced a virus on their Mac.

Yes: you were right in your prediction that the Mac would get more and more popular, but this doesn't seem to have brought forward viruses for OS X.

Meanwhile, things seem to be getting worse for Windoze users.
