I sympathize with your plight. I really do. Some people I know who work in the hospitality industry are also going through difficult times and are very frustrated and worried.

However, in your little corner of the world (as you put it) NY, nearly 33,000 PEOPLE HAVE DIED and over 100,000 have been hospitalized. I sympathize with the families and friends of the dead and ill even more.

Yes - in March and April it was bad. A high rate of people who caught the virus were hospitalized, a high proportion of those died. Poor and slow decisions from our leaders didn't help, the care system was under pressure, best treatments were experimental, also people generally didn't help themselves by following social guidance.

In August however fewer people who have the virus are hospitalised and an even smaller percentage of those die. The vulnerable are now better protected and treatments have improved.
The protests earlier in summer saw infection soar to twice Spring's daily level, hospitalisations reached a similar peak as April but deaths remained below April's peak.
(My reading of summer is a younger, healthier demographic were infected over a wider area and were cautious about passing it on to their vulnerable relatives.)

On the other hand alcohol removes all social barriers and the heavy breathing involved in exercise & singing are known to be effective ways to spread the viral load.

Can you have protest concerts? Were fed up an going to protest by playing loud music. No crowd limits and safe spacing required.

I heard live music coming out of one of our local beach clubs. So I hopped into thte golf cart and went down.
Turned out and was all recorded with fake crowd sounds and no one there except other disappointed faces.
