The dirt sheets are jumping all over themselves trying to figure out every chant during RAW, while giving relatively little lip service to the matches themselves. Haven't seen a RAW this surreal since the night after Owen Hart died...

The chants during Shaemus vs Orton match were just hilarious. I swear they were chanting "RVD" and then "ECW". Chants had nothing to do with the match, lol.

i agree Ryberg has been in a few high profile matches but seems to come up short. lets see what a heel turn will do. If it is now Cena vs Ryberg he will loose again.

Wow what a great RAW! I enjoyed it even more than Wrestlemania I think.
Can't understand why the MITB cashing in happened today instead of yesterday at WM but whatever. At least it's happened now.

Holy shit, guys-- I think...I think I'm a fan again. I've been a smark for a long time, but I can't remember the last time I was a fan.

I'll be covering both Mania and Raw in this post, so bare with me.

Big E, Ziggy, and Babe-y
First of all, kudos to Ziggler for finally cashing in the briefcase. I didn't actually watch Mania until today, and after Raw had aired I was checking my AJ sources and I saw a .gif of their backstage interview and Ziggler had the title. I was kind of in disbelief. I knew he had to cash it in at some point, but I never expected it the night after Mania. After Del Rio came out, I was just waiting for the injury. And then I watched the ramp the entire time, and boom. I was yelling "FUCKING SUBMISSION!" over and over again, and then he won. The crowd was on fire, seriously. Ziggler and his crew are more over than anyone in the company. Even Taker didn't get that kind of reaction.

Last night was truly then night when Ziggler deserved to win it, though. I like Del Rio (as a heel), but they're not doing anything of substance right now, and they're certainly not giving him a storyline that gives the Heavyweight title any meaning. Ziggler, as a heel, has massive crowds cheering for him. He truly does steal the show, he's got more promise than anybody, and I'm just happy he finally got it.

As for AJ, well, here's where it gets dark. I've been following the Mania Diary of hers on the WWE's site, and I've watched every interview she's done in the past week. And I think I've delved even deeper into the world of becoming one of those guys. She looked amazing both last night and Sunday night-- those thighs fucking won't stop.

But I digress. She is currently a valet, and yet she's been more in demand for interviews this past week than Punk. That says something.

CM Punk versus Undertaker
I thought this was a pretty good match, but I saw a recurring element. In this match, Lesnar vs. Crips, and Rocky vs. SuperCena, there were a lot of botches, and more importantly, there were a lot of 'tries' at the same move. In this case, Punk kept going for the Old School, and pulled it off the first time, but got a split the second. I don't understand that. Another problem was the Spanish Announce Table-- I don't know that I've ever seen any event where it doesn't get crushed, but it didn't Sunday night. Not until later anyway. So, when Punk lined up Taker on it and made the high risk flying elbow, he took most of the punishment and struggled to appear like he was on top for the rest of it. And I'm quite sure he's injured now because of that.

This wasn't a great match, though. It's good for Punk to say that he's done it, and it looks good for Taker, but Punk was clearly injured and at the same time he was attempting to overreact to Takers moves (as expected). I just don't think it was as hard-hitting as it should've been, and it looked too fake.

As for Punk, as I said earlier, I'm sure he's injured or just taking banked up. The rap sheets are saying that he's doing it to sell his match with Taker, but if that were true, there would be some mention of it.

John Cena versus Rocky versus Ryberg versus Chris Christie
Cena vs. Rocky was a decent match. Again, there was a lot of repetition. It was mainly just playing and tricking one another.

I expected Cena to win, but it was a little odd seeing it actually happen. No clue what they were thinking with the show of respect at the end, though. Maybe they were trying to set up for a stable-- I think they were trying to do that last year, but abandoned it for some reason. And now it's off the map because Rocky's injured.

Cena's first Raw as champ was underwhelming. His opening promo fell flat, and I think that was because he was thrown off by the crowd.

I didn't expect Ryberg to make a heel turn so quickly, but I suppose he wasn't doing much. I expect this to be very 90s', but in a shitty WCW way. Good luck with the promos.

Triple Crips versus Brock Lesnar
I didn't care about this match at all and still don't. David beat Goliath, everybody goes home happy, yadda yadda.

Shawn Michaels couldn't have been more obnoxious. I hate that dude more than Hogan, I swear.

Conclusion
Overall, this was to be expected. The design and sheer spectacle of Mania was great, but the booking was terrible. It just didn't deliver in the way that it should've, and I think that has to do with the failure to establish a clear thesis on Raw in the week proceeding. As I said, I felt like we needed another Raw to tie it all in, and you could easily see on the PPV that I was right. They resorted to constant video packages to tell the story, and that is why they failed.

Raw was much better than Mania, though. Finally, something fresh, and something that isn't a rematch. I know it will all die down soon, but I actually went white-knuckled for a match, and that hasn't happened in a long time. So, I'm optimistic, but my heart isn't in it.

Most of the posts I can't read because I'm downloading RAW right now and I want to see by myself what's going on.

But here are my thoughts about Wrestlemania:

Big Show, Orton, Sheamus vs. Shield: good and hard match, not too long, 8/10

Henry vs. Ryback: a brutal match of two giants, a bit too slow 7/10

Hell No vs.Ziggler & Langston: nice start when Bryan gets his revenge of last years humiliation... hard match, Ziggler sold very brutal moves against himself,
Ziggler is also an oldschool heel, very good match, 8,5/10

Jericho vs. Fandango: spectacular match with a surprising end, not as good as most of the other matches until now 7/10

Swagger vs. del Rio: the weakest match until now, the Swagger story was promising but the match was not that hard. Not bad but the weakest.
I like the fact that del Rio is still champion. There is not freedom of speech for idiots (Germans would call Swagger a Nazi) -
and yes... I know it's just a story... but a very political one 6,5/10

Undertaker vs. Punk: Awesome, brutal, spectacular... but not as exciting as the last four matches (against HBK and Triple H). Just 9,5/10

Lesnar vs. Triple H: As they said, more a war than a match. Could have been better but it was brutal enough to be satisfied. 8,5/10

Cena/Rock: more a dance than a match. What idiot has planned that match? Just failed finishing moves after failed finishing move, how boring. And Cena stood there, smiling and looking like a retard during the match all the time. Very bad. I'm not a fan but even no hater... but this match was none. Sorry, but... the weakest match of the night 5/10

Altogether a Wrestlemania to remember... I enjoyed it.

Oh, BTW, I saw this bill in the stadium:

"If Cena wins, we complain online"... hahaha, sounds better than the old one: "If Cena wins, we riot!"

Already ruined the fact there is a new IC champ.. WTF!? That was the only one I guessed wrong in predictions at Mania (which doesn't count cause it doesn't...) and Miz loses the next night. I'm going to the BS thread right now to air this BS.

Raw must be epic or absolutely f'n awful so i'll add my useless comments that have already been discussed later after i've caught up with the marking out. Can't watch Raw live, just can't, even if I could those adverts would drive me insane.


Time to piss on the flame here and talk about WRASSLE Mania. I enjoyed it in the end because I got everything right in predictions for the main show. I even said it'd be funny if Ryback got Henry up and he got squashed and he DID. I was dancing about like a sad lunatic, too bad I didn't film myself, would of been a hilarious YT video. I was seriously thinking Henry and Ryan must really enjoy porn. Hey guys if you're reading this, glad I could help out with the idea. Anyway onto other matters like typing about WRASSLE Mania

I enjoyed the Shield match. Good spots, bit of controversy, no Randy heel turn but ah well can't have everything. Maybe I should of predicted it and it would of happened (OK enough)

A Cena and Rock vid next.. I was wondering why tbh.. isn't that for before the match then low and behold they wanted to show videos throughout the night so they didn't have to show a full video before the match. Breaking the norm I suppose.

Cheers for Henry and sexual chocolate chants. Muesreview did a funny choc reference in his latest raw video which was rather funny albeit short.

OOOOO, there it is, Wrestlemania 30 being advertised already.

WTF is Big E wearing, looks terrible. Totally marked out for the kiss and quick pin attempt. Classic right there. So glad Bryan won, fabulous for him and the YES moment.

WWE selling themselves as loving and caring again.

Only reason Fandango made the card is because he could have a flashy entrance. VKMs head was alive with the image and it had to be done.
I thought the finish was abit iffy but I looked through it and it was a pretty obvious victory.

More sales... this has to be the most videos WWE have ever done to sell and promote stuff, it got quite annoying.

It's PDiddy! time to take a toilet break. Dammit didn't need to go, can this guy actually sing? He was awful.

Decent bout between Swagger and ADR, enjoyed it for what it was but not epic.

Living Color rule!! Best match of the night next with Taker and Punk. My only gripe was the table didn't break on the elbow drop but otherwise it was awesome, especially seeing Punk do old school although he muddled up the arms slightly. Just didn't have it in me to believe Punk could do it though and proved correct.

Brock and HHH was stellar. Nearly as good as the last match.

Mick Foley.. such a legend, great to see him.

Cena and Rock was dead for me. Crowd were sitting on their hands, faint boring chants in the stadium, and all I enjoyed about it was Cena going for the Peeps elbow and stalling then going for AA only to get countered and I was thinking oh crap, Rock is gonna win then when Cena kicked out it was back to the reality of this is an obvious outcome.

Decent Mania, wasn't overly exciting but had enough about it to keep me satisfied enough.

The "Thank you, Big Show" chant when he walked in to ruin the Orton/Sheamus match was beyond awesome. It showed how little that crowd cared for either of the two "faces" in the ring.

And a funny thing that I saw online today: evidently Big E accidentally popped AJ while doing his pre-match stretch-y thing ...



Which lead to a funny comment by AJ afterwards: "If I wasn't forced to wear a padded bra, that E backhand would've hurt pretty bad. #WonderBrasSaveLives #MilesBeneathTheSurface"

And my prediction for who will be the first challenger for Ziggler's title: Christian. He's allegedly ready to come back (and was just waiting for the right angle to do so) and all of the other main eventers on Smackdown are tied up (ADR with Swagger; Henry with Ryback & Cena; Sheamus & Orton with Show) so unless they're dropping one of the on-going angles (and I can see them dropping Swagger down the totem pole now, leaving ADR for a rematch) it might be the time for Christian to come back and unsuccessfully challenge for the title.
