One reason I upgraded my RG account to premium is due to various site rip blogs that are out there that use RG. Most of them are video only and they're not always complete but have an amazing amount of content, some of it very hard to find. One guy's blog has almost 100 pages of site rips but only the last 40 have working links. Still, each page has over a dozen sites on it, so that's still a lot of sites. Some are crap, some are small and some are among the most popular sites on the net.

So like I said before, premium accounts are worth getting IF you download a lot of porn. The real downside isn't the cost, but the simple fact that the easier it is to download stuff, the more stuff you will download. Sorta like what legalizing drugs would do.

It definately is not the connection. As a free user with depositfiles and luckyshare, for example, i am getting about 190 KB/sec. No, nothing wrong with my connection, just rapidgator is horrible.

With HF you can download your stuff via FTP once you're a premium user.

At least with LuckyShare you can put your links in a dl manager even as a free user. Yes it only uses one thread, but you can resume if it all goes south.

It sounds like you're just in a bad 'spot' relative to their servers. I get a meg or 2/sec faster with premium RG than I do with premium RS. And I only get good RS dl speed using IDM, otherwise it's only a MB or so per second.

Are you using a download manager of any kind? If not, you should try one. It can make a huge difference. With Mega, for example, most downloads die unless I use something like jdownloader.

Might be worth checking out.

I m someone who nearly always uses free downloads, lately i see a lot of stuff hosted on rapidgator. Once had a premium membership at rapidshare so i m not just getting stuff for free.

2 Years ago you could download from a lot of hosters with 200kb/s+ as a freeuser, now i only get 50kb/s from rapidgator. What pisses me off the MOST, i cant even describe how angry this shit makes me is that if you do not answer the captcha within 1min or you mistype it you have to wait 2hours. What fucking joke is that, srsly that is just pure harrasment. It is not the way you are trying to sell your product, if i would consider buying a premiummembership from a host the last host i would purchase this from would be rapidgator. This hoster basically is just LOOKING to piss me off and is doing this on purpose.

All other hosters will let you reenter the captcha, give you more time and if the timespan expires then you have to wait another 60secs. I m totally fine with that since i am a freeuser and i cant expect premium services. But what i really hate is that you only have 1min to enter and if you mistype or the min expires you have to w8 for 2 fucking hours to download with crappy 50kb/s.

That is not how you offer a freeservice, put in captches limit the downloadspeed but do not harras your potential costumers and try to force them to buy your premiummembership.

Don't forget RP and UL use popup ads that can lock up your PC for 20-30 seconds thereby making you miss the window to enter in the captcha. Happened today as a free RP user. When I hit a keystroke to enter in the captcha a screen popped up for a site called Vube and it locked the up (not responding message appeared) for a bit and when Vube responded RP said time expired and I have to wait 120 minutes.

I have that happen a lot with DepositFile. But at least you can reload it and try again.

I agree 100% that the RG captcha is horrible.

Also, you have to remember that "free" stuff isn't really free. I've given this speech many times elsewhere so I'll give you the short version. It takes time to post "free" content. And time IS money. I only wish posting was as easy as downloading but it's not. It may seem like it's easy and a no-brainer to those who don't post, and mostly it is. But it's also can be extremely tedious. And it takes money. As in money to by external HDs to store all of the "free" stuff in the event that links die and there are no backups, among other things.

Then there's dealing with people who don't have a grateful bone in their body. More times than I can recall, I have seen generous people post truly hard to find material, sometimes huge collections of it, and the only response they get from downloaders is something like, "Gee, can you re-up this on a my favorite host because I don't like the one you used." In fact, someone pulled that stunt just yesterday elsewhere.

OK, I'm starting to rant here. BTW, that wasn't aimed at anyone in particular. But if it describes any of you, then I hope you are offended.

Dont get me wrong i m not critizing the uploaders, i m very thankful for them and i know this is a lot of work. I m just critizing rapidgator for treating their potential costumers like shit.
There is NO fucking reason to let your potential costumer wait for 2hours
(i mean you can restart your router but a lot of people dont know this) because they didnt type in the correct captcha within 1min.

That is just plain stupid, people like me are pissed off about this and i dont think i m the only one who thinks that way.
In the back of my head i always think "fucking rapidgater", this hoster doesnt have a good impression on me, may it be rational or not, it scares me away as a costumer because i do not feel treated the right way. It feels like it just waits for an opportunity to "punish" you instead of leaving a good impression and remind you to maybe get a premium account.

Like "ahaha motherfucker you are too LATE, now you have to wait 2 fucking hours you morron.And ah motherfucker if you do not want to be treated like shit give us your fucking money."

How are you all even able to see the captcha on Rapidgator? I can never even get a captcha nor the box to type it in for months now, so I can't download ANYTHING from RG.
I've tried many diff browsers but all got the same issue. Everything's up to date too, and used to be able to get from the site fine... no longer.

Anyone know what's going on & how to fix it?
