Sadly, Disney has already done that.

It's almost like Lucas actually foresaw the future of the Star Wars franchise back in 2005...

...including the ludicrous "blame the messenger" arguments that Disney - and especially their producers and directors - concocted to explain away fan outrage at the travesty they've created. |

34 minutes without ending credits. Disney TV put their stuff on at 1 minute after midnight Pacific time on the day the new episode is scheduled. One episode left. No way they will wrap it all up nicely next Friday. It will be a wait until Season 2 to get your unanswered answers still unanswered.

I'm okay with waiting until a second season to get answers when the show's this good. This is the best thing I've seen in the Star Wars franchise since Return of the Jedi, other than a few of the EU books.

I am waiting. I wanna hear some honest assessments of Rise of Skywalker. Use the hide function and spoiler a way.
I won't be seeing it until it comes out on video (I might see it in a month at the theater, maybe; weekday morning) I have already read the summary. It is funny some of the spoilers I read were completely wrong! Some spoilers were dead on though. |

I'll probably see it this coming week - I'm visiting my brother for Christmas, and we saw The Force Awakens together - and the original trilogy when those films were new. I can't help but keep going to SW films even though the last one I loved came out in 1980, but this may end it for me. Not that I've hated any of the Disney films - Lucas' own prequels were much, much worse than these new films even if they represented his "vision" better. I guess I don't think much of his vision after the first two films, so many decades ago.
I find it odd and sad that today's generation seems to be mostly looking to the past, to already-created franchises and characters, and that there's little new that's really attained the popularity of Star Wars or the comic book characters (mostly created between the 30s and the 70s) this century. I guess Game of Thrones and Harry Potter are the major exceptions and I suppose 40 years from now the kids 2060 will be watching umpteenth reboots and remakes of those. The cycle never ends. |
