The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2013 has been announced:

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Coach Bill Parcells, Warren Sapp, Cris Carter, Jonathan Ogden and Larry Allen have been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The class of 2013 also includes a pair of senior selections, Curley Culp and Dave Robinson. The announcement was made Saturday in New Orleans, a day before the Super Bowl.

Five players were eliminated in the final vote: Jerome Bettis, Charles Haley, Andre Reed, Michael Strahan and Aeneas Williams.

Earlier Saturday, the selection committee eliminated Tim Brown, Kevin Greene, Will Shields and former owners Edward DeBartolo Jr. and Art Modell.

I thought at least either Haley or DeBartolo Jr. would have made it. I'm glad Cris Carter finally did make it though. He's been waiting way too long. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say on ESPN. He was always one of my favorite receivers.

Perhaps nobody told you or you didn't get the message but I am never wrong ...except for that one time .. and the person who pointed out my mistake was never heard from again...I think something bad happened to him..

I think it's going to take a while for Eddie DeB to get in.
That whole Louisiana riverboat scheme that cost him ownership of the Niners
will probably make it a posthumous induction.
Love Eddie but to risk all he had for that was pretty stupid.

Haley I like but he also played for the enemy so my feelings are mixed.

Yes. It was a dumb decision by Eddie. I just thought he had a real strong chance to make it this season due to the recent success of the 49ers and having them be in the Super Bowl this year. That combined with with A Football Life episode dedicated to him that was really well done. I get the feeling that just winning as an owner isn't also enough. He has five Super Bowl trophies, but didn't necessarily contribute to the game of football and make it more profound in it's nature. Art Moddell did this with the television industry and such. Regardless, I hope Eddie gets in sooner rather than later. It would be nice for the old dynasty of 49ers players to go back to Canton again for his induction.

I'm very glad Larry Allen made it.

I'm happy Bill Parcells made it.

I'm fucking pissed that Sapp made it on his first year of eligibility over a man with 5 Superbowl rings with two different teams. Teams which he was a huge part of their defense for those championship runs. Warren Sapp being elected to the HOF before Haley and Strahan is a steaming crock of shit.
