We have several of them:

In the first instance, if someone is unhappy with a moderator action, they are advised to take it to a section SuperModerator.

If they are unhappy with the SuperModerator's decision, they can take to an Admin (some people prefer to take it to all the admins).

Then there's this guy.

I've been a mod, I've been a SuperMod, and now I'm an Admin - I've been both sides of the fence when it comes to "was that decision justified" - so I can categorically state - the Staff do not "always take the side of the staff."

I know because I've been a mod who was told his decision needed "rethinking" by a SuperMod.

I've been a SuperMod told his decision needed "amending" by a SuperMod, and an Admin.

And I've been an Admin who has had to change a decision after discussion with the other Admins.

People may think we "take the side of the staff;" but that's only because you don't get to see our side of the discussions.

I personally believe that the Staff here do a very good job considering the size of the place and the workload involved (some may disagree with me) - rules however, are open to different interpretations and just because one Staff Member and another interpret it different ways doesn't necessarily mean one person is "in the wrong".

While I appreciate this procedure to lodge any dissatisfaction with a moderator, is this even public knowledge?? I've been a loyal member over the years and never knew this. I'm not implying that anyone is hiding things or making it more difficult, but I genuinely wonder how many PS members even know the distinctions between Mods, SuperMods, Admins, etc..

All posters to preface their post with the Filehost. eg: (k2s)Filename/Link, (fb)Filename/Link, (dep)Filename/Link, etc.

I'm sure most of us only have 1 or 2 paid subscriptions. There can't be many people who have subscriptions to 3 or more filehosts. The bandwidth & man hours wasted by most of us looking at posts which are unobtainable must be incredible and cost the PS Host a lot of money.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I would think zero was a more believable number. I have never paid for a filehost and still manage to download merrily away.

I would stop this ridiculous (almost laughable if it weren't not true) habit that a few administrators have of making any issue political and shutting down threads and threatening us with strikes. We are all adults here aren't we?

I come from a country where it is our right to have free speech and I find it amazing that someone who may come from another country which doesn't have that same right to free speech tries to tell me what I can and can't say. Especially when certain administrators show a clear bias when it comes to certain subjects.

What is even more funny? That I believe in free speech so much, I would be the idiot defending the right to free speech of the administrator who tries to censor me.

Freedom of speech does not include the private sector. That includes forums,etc.

Freedom of speech is enshrined in the laws and constitution of many countries.

This enshrinement ensures that it is a fundamental right: no difference if it is exercised in a newspaper or in an discussion forum.

One thing I would add as an Admin would be a board where members could share their collections; I think it would be interesting to see who collects, it would provide easier access for those who lose to retrieve their files and it would highlight more active users from less active ones.

We had a political section at this forum quite some time ago. Although as you say we are all supposed to be adults here, there were a number of adults who did not act like adults, and the section turned into a hotbed for flame wars.

It got so bad that nobody wanted to moderate the section, so a decision was made that political discussion would no longer be allowed here. As far as I know currently, that decision is not subject to change.

It was not a matter of free speech being restricted, it was and is a matter of trying to keep peace at this forum.

I'm okay with no politics here. But I'm not a fan of discussing something like that here. Politics have just gotten so polarizing the last few years and has really been divisive. Even if there was a section for politics, I just wouldn't want to visit it as I know how deeply seated some people are with their positions.

To the people who really want to discuss politics I'm sure there are sites for it. I'm just not 110% sold that this is the site for it. And I see all sorts of other non-porn topics discussed here but talking politics is just too toxic of a topic to broach. Vote for who you want to when you're in the election booth. I don't need to know who you voted for. Conversely don't judge me for who I vote for as well.
