Thanks for that Cripl. Can I just ask - how long those gifts will remain available? Reason I ask is that I want to have access to Fightpass on 30th April so that I can see Eddie Bravo Invitational 6. If I activate one of those now it will have expired by then.

They do also have a 1 week trial offer - so I suppose I could sign up for a weeks trial a couple of days before EBI 6.

Anyway - its cool for you to post those links.

If anyone knows a little something about shocking upsets in the combat sports world, it’s boxing legend Mike Tyson.

Nearly 26 years ago in Tokyo, Tyson lost his WBA, WBC and IBF heavyweight titles after getting knocked out by 41-1 longshot Buster Douglas. Tyson was perfect through his previous 37 outings prior to that fateful night in “The Land of the Rising Sun.”

To this day, it remains arguably the biggest upset in professional sports history.

While his aura of invincibility was never the same, Tyson dusted himself off and reclaimed the WBA and WBC belts eight fights later. Tyson, who has been a solid presence for the UFC over the years, wanted to offer up some advice to UFC superstars Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor following their shocking defeats.

Rousey admitted to being deeply depressed for weeks after getting knocked out by Holly Holm in November to lose her bantamweight crown, leaving many to speculate if the “Rowdy” one will ever be the same, let alone come back.

“Listen, you say those things, but that’s just our ego’s really being bruised that’s all,” Tyson recently said on “The Jim Rome Show.” “We get it together, we realize it’s a discipline, we need to correct some mistakes that we made to increase our desire, and life goes on.

“Now she’s going to get ready to fight [Miesha Tate] that just beat Holly Holm and most likely she’s going to beat that woman.”

Tate choked Holm unconscious earlier this month at UFC 196 to capture the bantamweight throne. She is expected to face Rousey for a third time later this winter.

Rousey already holds two armbar submission wins over her bitter rival.

As for McGregor, Tyson believes the UFC’s brash featherweight champion bit off more than he could chew by jumping two divisions in only three months to fight Nate Diaz at welterweight on just 11 day’s notice.

“My personal opinion, I think he went up too fast in weight, and I think he fought the wrong guy in that weight,” Tyson said. “It’s just something that happens in fighting, and we should all learn from our mistakes.

“That’s what fighting is all about, learning from our mistakes, improving our mistakes, and improving ourselves. Not giving up.”

McGregor is aiming to defend his featherweight belt at UFC 200 on July 9. Jose Aldo or Frankie Edgar will likely stand opposite the UFC’s biggest cash cow.

So there you have it, Tyson says to learn from your mistakes in order to come back stronger. Pretty generic, but it carries a bit more weight coming from “Iron Mike.”

I quite like old Mitrione but I don't think his loss will be a massive blow to the UFC. On the other hand McDonald is a different story - they can't afford to lose fighters of his quality. Probably time the UFC started being a bit more generous with their fighters.

Diaz v McGregor rematch looks like its on the cards for UFC 200. more here. I've also heard from another source that the fight will be at 170.
