Megadeth - "Th1rt3en"

Thirteen must be a paysite name, they disguised it. Barring the ridiculous album title, still very high from Endgame, and knowing of David Ellefson's return to his home in the band, I came in expecting this to be better than Endgame. After all, the first single of the album was on some Guitar Hero game, "Sudden Death," and it was great. I was wrong, this is a notable decline. It reminds heavily of Countdown to Extinction as there's clearly an urge to obtain commercial success. Using a different producer than the two previous albums (Andy Sneap produced United Abominations and Endgame), that has popular bands such as Killswitch Engage in his resume, getting a song on Guitar Hero. Endgame felt like it didn't care about success, just kicking your ass.

Anyways, it's on Countdown's level, and that album itself was really good. So not much to complain if expectations are removed. They have a new album coming out later in the year, a great tradition to release an album every 2 years. So ends my journey through Megadeth's studio album discography.
