bit OT but there's issue's with FF too. Chrome and IE bit stupid to use. Opera 12 useful but getting out of date Opera 15-24 probably a bit more secure but way more addons that I need

i am on dialup, and loading certain pages is always a challenge. myspace hasn't worked for years (haven't really LOOKED tho), and lately facebook won't load (using firefox).

facebook i use a lot, so i was forced to try the rest of those browsers, and lo and behold, CHROME can still manage! so i now use FF for most things and chrome for that.

and i am using FF b/c most OTHER sites (PS included) will no longer load in...IE. i have fiddled with the settings (about turning off flash etc) but it is still the case that IE < FF < chrome/opera, speedwise. which is a shame, b/c, like patryn, my impression is that IE > FF > chrome/opera, function-wise. for starters, i use foreign languages a lot, and IE is the only one that can handle them properly.

so pls hesitate before you blindly pitch FF. IE is still better for some things, and chrome/opera are better for the speed and "streamlining" which used to be FF's whole point. FF is now kind of an also-ran sitting in the middle.

when i am on WIFI, btw, i switch back 100% to IE. it is still the best browser as long as you have the speed to handle it.

I'd probably ditch Windows if your on dial up. a linux distro would be better at least for surfing, games only if you have gog and certain distro's (PS IE is the worst browser ever made. 100 % worse than Safari ) security nightmare come true X_X I'll hand it to Apple on that one item.

i'm confused, i thought u were bashing FF down there? here i was, trying to take your side on that!

so u don't like FF, IE, Chrome, Safari or Opera?! what exactly are u using then?! that "pirate" browser u mentioned?

i dunno abt linux. i suspect it will mangle asian langs the same way all those browsers do. windows and IE are a necessary evil, even if they're slow.
