![]() Ah yes, Super Friends didn't air long on Cartoon Network, I don't think. I mostly remember it from watching on Boomerang. The show had the Wonder Twins as part of the team for a while, right? I remember that, I don't recall those kids and the dog. It was a pretty good show, and the name of the villain organization is awesome. The Legion of Doom! It sounds so cool, and sounds so metal! I have watched Justice League, and that show was fine, but I lost interest somehow. Justice League Unlimited didn't help matters either. Boomerang aired a sweet little video on Super Friends. ![]() |

![]() The Wonder Twins came when they reworked the original show form 73. This new show came out around 1977. The show with the Legion of Doom was called Challenge of The Superfriends. It aired for one season starting in 1978. I enjoyed both the Justice League and JLU. I thought the writing was far better and the characters were cooler. Aquaman & Wonder Woman were bad asses in JL & JLU compared with what they were back in the 70's.
Here are the openings for the 77 Super Friends & Challenge. |

I've never really jumped on the "Family Guy" bandwagon, though. I thought what I've seen was hilarious, but it just never equaled what "The Simpsons" had-- even when the show jumped the shark. |

![]() Sunday is here and with it the end of the cartoon week. As I clearly stated at the beginning of the week. If you don't see your favorite this week, do lose hope. There are so many cartoons out there, that more cartoon weeks will be coming. So what do I have to end this week? Well this cartoon wasn't picked until today. I thought long and hard on which cartoon I should pick. While I have enjoyed watching the Simpsons & Family Guy. This thread is about sparking memories or perhaps turning someone on to something they hadn't seen before. My job as the thread creator is to show everyone here peeks into the past. I haven't stopped anyone from postings whatever intros, or clips they wanted to share. If someone wants to post the Simpsons opening, Be my guest. They don't need me featuring their show since the show is still on. Now lets move on to today's pick.
Today's cartoon of the day is The Flintstones! The first Flintstones cartoon aired September 30, 1960 and ran until April 1, 1966, on ABC.The show was produced by Hanna-Barbera. Yes back in then Hanna-Barbera Productions was a busy place. The show is set in the Stone Age town of Bedrock. Although in some earlier episodes, it was also referred to as Rockville. The show focused on two families living in Bedrock. The Flintstones & The Rubbles. Voice Actors Alan Reed/Fred Flintstone Jean Vander Pyl/Wilma Flintstone/Pebbles Flintstone Mel Blanc & Daws Butler/Barney Rubble (Daws- season 2; episodes 1, 2, 5, 6, and 9 only) Bea Benaderet(seasons 1–4), Gerry Johnson (seasons 5–6)/Betty Rubble Don Messick/Bamm-Bamm Rubble/Hoppy/Arnold Mel Blanc/Dino John Stephenson/Mr. Slate Harvey Korman/The Great Gazoo Flintstones - Opening and Closing Credits Bonus: Shinrock A-Go-Go Parts 1&2
Stay tuned, Monday will start a new week and a new theme. |
