With E09 arriving next week, I am rewatching E07 today and E08 tomorrow. One question I have immediately. In E07, how the hell did Poe get off Jakku and then finding his way to the resistance?

Read? Novelization? Those are not part of my generation. Also how a girl that's been on a sandy desert planet all of her life who has no education, no parents, knows how to fly a piece of junk freighter like the Millenium Falcon. So she is good at scavenging parts off the wrecks of Star Destroyer but that doesn't makes her a pilot.

I am surprised there hasn't been an Ep 9 thread started yet. I have some spoilers I was going to post. And oddly enough this clip released today seems to confirm one the spoilers; very odd.

Here's the new clip that was released today by Lucasfilm. People are calling this a spoiler and are very surprised this was released.

No one stole it!!! Lucasfilm released it.

Just checking. HAHA! Still not watching it or reading anything. I need to stay off the internet for the next 8 days. I have tickets for Friday 20th first show at 8:30 am.

I didn't watch the whole thing but I heard George Lucas didn't show up. If that is true, why? He started a world wide phenomenon, he should be there for the finale.

Gee, I don't know. Maybe because The Force Awakens slavishly copied the best plot elements of A New Hope while bastardizing its spirit by introducing nothing new but one-dimensional characters and a big Mary Sue?

Or perhaps it's because The Last Jedi was basically one long exercise in character assassination of Luke Skywalker - with the writer/director demonstrating a breathtaking lack of understanding of Luke's heroic nature - in the pursuit of building up that same Mary Sue as a legitimate hero?

Or could it be because it's become obvious from the trailers and online leaks that The Rise of Skywalker is about to render the hero's journey of Luke and the redemptive arc of Anakin Skywalker - the twin hearts of Lucas' story - meaningless by showing that their efforts in Return of the Jedi were all for nothing?

Mark Hamill is still part of the cast, and he's a professional, so he's going to show up for the press tour and premiere...even if it's sometimes hard for him to hide how he feels about what's been done to his character.

But Lucas is a free agent - he doesn't owe anything to anyone. And given how much crap Rian Johnson, Kathleen Kennedy, and even J.J. Abrams have piled on top of his legacy, I don't blame him the tiniest bit for wanting to stay as far away from that premiere as possible.
