^ I wish I had your confidence, AK. I think it's inevitable that either Ryback or Sheamus will win the Rumble, and I think that Rock's return will overshadow the match regardless of who wins.

I also read (on a random board, that had something from the Wrestling Observer) that:

As we previously reported, the last two Raw shows of 2012, which were taped and aired on holiday nights, drew very poor ratings and ended the year with sinking numbers for WWE. As a result, the company plans to kick off 2013 with a bang, and has booked a TLC Title match for Raw next week, as well as the return of The Rock. Additionally, the show will be faced with stiff competition as the BCS National Championship game is broadcast that night. According to WWE sources, there are big Raw plans in store for 1/7 that should have everybody "buzzing" by 11:15pm EST.

My guess/fear is that either Ryback will get the title (ugh) or that it'll be the shocking return of a big name (Taker, Michaels) that should be retired instead of stinking up the show with an act that should've gone away at least 5-10 years ago. I can't for the life of me believe that the "buzz" that they'll give is something that I'll want to see or enjoy.

Also Cena is GOD AWFUL, i dont watch his matches, i know how they end, 2-3 dumbass shoulder hits, 5 knuckle bullshit hit and tha flip, he does nothing all match, comes in in the last 3-4 mins and wins

Ryback's been selected as a Golden Boy and thus will be forced down our throats whether we like it or not, just the way Sheamus & Randy Orton will.

And I honestly think that Cena's in-ring abilities are totally overlooked. He's had very-good (sometimes nearly-great) matches with everyone from Umaga & Khali to Shawn Michaels & CM Punk to Dolph Ziggler, plus nearly everyone in between. He has a pretty predictable move set, but that's as much the result of the "WWE product" as anything else, IMHO; and the "Super-Cena wins every match" thing is overblow, I think. He lost the MITB cash-in, lost to Rock, lost to Ziggler, lost to Punk ... at this point, Sheamus is more guilty of being the "Superman that never loses" than Cena.

I got Ryback winning the RR and I think it make more sense for him to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship because the Sheamus-Show feud is at it's end so I can see Ryback Vs Show at Wrestlemania with Ryback winning of course.

^ While I blame Tensai & a miscommunication for that blown spot, I will have to say that Ryback has also messed up his big move against Paul Heyman and other people, too. I don't know how confident I'd be in him doing it perfectly in a big match/big moment against Show @ Mania.

It always makes me laugh when the announcers drool over his strength when he does that move, when there are a bunch of guys on the roster that have done/are currently doing more impressive things. Whether it's Cena doing the FU to both Show & Edge at once (or even just Show alone) or Sheamus doing his move to Show or Cesario doing his move to Brodus Clay or to Khali, Ryback doing his lame move is far from the most impressive show of strength around.

It's your confidence that it'll be a good Rumble that I'm envious of - I'm just not feeling it this year, as I think too many guys that should be higher on the card are in holding patterns and won't get their 'moment' during the match - I'd like to see people like the Shield, or Wade Barrett, or Sandow/Rhodes, etc. getting a chance to shine and I just dread it being mid-carders doing joke spots (e.g. Santino, 3MB); returning guys getting a brief pop (like when Nash or Booker returned; it'll probably be Foley & Piper or something like that); and the dreaded Superman-push that I whined about earlier going to Ryback & Sheamus.

I'm still undecided how they'll do the Rumble winner + Elimination Chamber winner(s) ... if the rumors are true, Sheamus vs Orton is supposed to be a title match and Show vs Ryback is not, so maybe Orton wins the Rumble and challenges Sheamus, who takes the belt from Show at some point?

Something that'll never happen but I'd love, Ziggler would win the Rumble & and then unify the titles by (1) winning the Raw belt @ Mania & (2) cashing in his MITB case on the Smackdown champ the same night.

My guess, considering that I got bored with this "re-run" era is that the "buzz" will be a new team to copycat TNA for ratings. Kind of like the Main Event Mafia was a copy of NWO, and the Shield is another copy of NWO.
It just seems like these two brands are "copycats" of the attractions. The wrestlers quit one brand to join the other. I got bored with wrestling.
Like you said, More retired wrestlers will return for another boring match. I did not think Sgt slaughter was any good in his wrestling years, and he is worse in his HOF years.
I am more insulted of how they trash relationships by having AJ with different lovers and the kissing crap I think is because Playboy owns WWE stock. I think she will be like Tori Wilson and feel "Embarrassed" about her career after she quits.

Ryback is FrankenVince's current monster, and FrankenVince always shoots his projects to the top. He's never been one for bringing guys to the top through the cards in this era. It's not fair to the staples who deserve it more, but that's how it is.

Punk is just trying to rack up the days on his title reign at the moment, and he has to be untouchable to do that. It wouldn't amount to anything if they shot his gimmick by taking away his title.

Any time a big wrestling move is done it takes both guys working together to make it happen. For Rybeck to power lift a guy like Albert up onto his shoulder like he usually does the other guy (Albert) has to make a huge push off his foot into the air so momentium can carry Albert up to where Rybeck can finish the move. That botch was totally ALbert's fault as he does next to nothing to help Rybeck.

This is partly why Tensai's return was a bust.
