what will happen Up/download Host Requests thread? i think best alternative for the zippyshare is - uploadrar.com, mediafire.com (free & no wait limit) other choice are - uptobox.com, 1fichier.com, send.cm |

I had opined in the ZS issue thread running parallel to the the Up/Down host request thread that the impending demise of ZippyShare is driving a lot of traffic to their site right now which may make their VM server infrastructure very attractive to a prospective buyer. I would advise a 'wait and see' approach as it relates to the Up/Down Host Request thread rather than throwing out every host under the sun so the Admins & Mods can do their testing and come up with an informed decision.
Adding another host option doesn't just affect the Up/Down Host request thread, but the entire Planet. While I'm sure we'd all like to see 'Uncle Walt's Magic Elixir & File Host' service added, ultimately it isn't our decision. I'm sure whatever decision is made will be a sound one. |

So, I've been frequenting request forums focussing on Scene-released music lately, and they're relying on various zippyshare-style hosts I'd never come across before. Search tells me they've never been mentioned here, either, which I suppose means they might be worth consideration now. Going strictly by personal experience, the best of the lot is this German site (never mind the "image" in the name, I've only ever seen it used as a file host):

Reason: linkfix
PHP Code:
- no ads whatsoever, AFAI can tell - no registration needed, even for uploading - no captchas - nice size limit (more than 2GB), for this sort of host - nice speeds Cons, ditto: - defaults to German, but supports English - download timer, but short enough to barely be a nuisance - no parallel downloads (plus, currently has a bug: trying this sometimes stops links from loading afterwards, but clearing cookies fixes it) - falsely claims link longevity of 500 days from most recent download; true value may be on the order of 50 days, which again is still quite nice for this sort of host - dunno how it'd stand up to the traffic a million-member forum would add, heh I have no idea if there are any cumulative limits, like a ceiling on the daily download count or volume. Link for testing, about half a gig: Code:

As stated in http://veterperementour.ru/showpost.p...90&postcount=4 dfiles dot ru was removed from the allowed file hosts. All links in the threads were overridden with ***
Maybe it is to late for this, but is it possible to replace the links with the dfiles.eu domain? I'v noticed that most of the files are still available on their servers under this domain. Dfiles.eu also remained on the list of allowed hosts. At least as of now. Sure, it could be done manually, but I guess not everybody realizes, that the links belong to depositfiles. |
