The company that runs three of the biggest hosts, K2S/FB/Tez have now made their site compatible only with the very latest browsers and throttled their free DLs for almost all users to 50kbs or less. In some cases it drops to below 20kbs. So for many who can't or don't want to upgrade to the latest software and don't want to subscribe to a monthly payment these links might as well be dead.

There was a full descussion going on here

RG/UL/DF/FJ/FF/ are all universally backwards compatible. While RG/UL/FF do throttle their DLs to 60-70kbs FJ/DF still hit a decent 150-200kbs most of the time.

K2S/FB/Tez Didn't have to do this. They have tried it before and smaller forums I belong to kicked up a stink so they reversed their coding decision. This time they didn't and removing them as allowed hosts their didn't make a dent so unless a forum of the size of this one makes an official complaint to them about their restrictions and threatens to remove their official host status they'll keep holding free users to ransom.

TBH it's difficult to see why these three hosts remain preferred here if many can't get to the files anyway

This isn't about making all downloads unlimited. It's about not forcing people to subscribe just to get the odd file.

One of the downfalls of some of the suggestions I've heard here is that these issues aren;t being considered and not making sure that one of the backwards compatible and/or unthrottled hosts isn't required if their links are used means some posts will always be inaccessible to many.

All K2s/FB/Tez in all of them. so if you can't access those three hosts because their coding is trying to force poeple to subscribe - too f'n bad.

I don't see how this forum can keep supporting this company in good conscience without trying to address the issue at least, either by talking to them directly and trying to get them to reverse their coding decision or by adjusting the forum rules to reflect their choice to restrict free users. Not doing this means the forum is basically supporting a company whose hosts are premium only in all but name.

If you're going to do that you also have to change the forum rules about premium only links. Let's face it. You try DLing a file at over a GB from a link that doesn't allow more than 50kbs. After about 4 hours I'll bet you give it up so it might as well be a premium only link.

^ Hard disagree. K2S/ FB/ Tez is still the most reliable filehost for me and I get 180-200 KB/s with resume option using the PS referrer. That's better than anything except for maybe Zippy or DF.

If this is true then why are file host like Rapidgator Keep2share and Filejoker allowed they only give 80kbs to 100kbs IMO way to slow no file host that does not give a min of 750kbs download speed should not be allowed on any download forum

pls if I could add the host of rosefile.net as an additional mirror or would it be wrong, it is a host that does not force adblock to be deactivated, it does not have advertising, nor does it ask to buy premium in a mandatory way to download and allows uploading files of up to 10 GB

Do any of the approved image hosts permit .webp (similar to GIF) or .webm file types?

IMO, clips are much better a letting me know if a scene is worth checking out.
