Agree with pretty much everything. I think Cerone is one of the UFC's outstanding fighters and I've yet to see him in a boring fight. I'm just surprised that he hasn't had a title fight yet. Henderson seems to have lost a little of that killer edge in recent fights. But if he gets his stuff together on the night Cerone will have his hands full. Anyway I'm really looking forward to it.

For what its worth - and that ain't much my tips for the main card would be:

McGregor beats Siver
Cerone beats Henderson - or vice versa

Hall beats Stallings
Parke beats Tibau

DO NOT put any money on those tips - I have a horrible record when it comes to making UFC predictions.

I presume you're referring to Anderson Silva testing positive for steroids and Nick Diaz testing positive for marijuana???

I don't have to many problems with the mary-jane but the steroids are a big no-no in my book. Both will probably get a ban and we probably won't see either fight again. I can live with that.

You always hear fighters claim/estimate a substantial percentage of their peers are taking PEDs and you assume that MMA fighters that are 'real martial artists' are too honest to cheat in any way. If someone like Anderson Silva took PEDS, I guess anyone is capable of doing so.

GSP is another that I couldn't imagine being guilty of taking PEDs. In light of recent events, I must admit that if we ever found out that he did, it would be less of a surprise now.

I don't think cannabis should be tested either.

I have little doubt that a lot of them are on the pedigree chum. It would be against the odds if they weren't - considering how widespread it is in virtually every other athletic sport. There are a few fighters in particular who are so muscle bound they remind me of Ben Johnson when he was at the height of his PED use. I'm always suspicious of them.

Silva issued a statement a couple of days ago denying he took any PEDs. Amongst other things he said "I’ve been competing in this sport for a very long time. This is my 19th fight in the UFC. I have been thoroughly tested many times and have never had a positive drug test. I have not taken any performance-enhancing drugs. My stances on drug is, and will always be, the same. I am an advocate for a clean sport"

I think I heard some cyclist say similar things - a Lance Somebodyorother.

Silva is getting up there in that age bracket where guys need to start supplementing their testosterone levels to remain competitive with the younger guys.

Not saying that's what he's been doing, but he's right up there in age with Chael Sonnen, Dan Henderson, Vitor Belfort, Ben Rothwell, etc.

Yeah, Silva's response was to be expected. Don't think he'll 'get off the hook' like Cung Le but both reputations have been tarnished. Jon Fitch recently failed a test for elevated testosterone levels. Those who complain the most, eh?

Still absolutely gutted that someone like Silva got busted. He's one of (if not the) greatest and he still shat in his own bed. Mind you, you notice that mean-looking black guy he was with at the weigh-ins? Someone posted on the MMA sub-reddit a selfie he had took with his top off. I think we all know where the juice came from.
