No sweat. At least you reminded me that it was on tonight. I forgot all about it.

Good point. I guess he could refuse to get in the cage.

So Kofi's a sloppy worker and he gets rewarded for that?

There is not a guy in wrestling that has not botched a move. It happens to everyone. If the same guy keeps botching moves then its a problem.
Like Mabel the huge black guy from 5-10 years back. He was notorious for blowing spots and fucking guys up. |

Having Lesnar interfere in the HIAC match does not make sense in a booking point of view. Ryback is only the #1 face on Raw until Cena comes back. Advancing the program with CM Punk doesn't make sense after the PPV due to that. Therefore, you need a new program for Ryback after the PPV, which should come from the match. Lesnar makes absolutely no sense. Lesnar doesn't have that many appearances left on his contract, certainly not to throw away a couple against a second rate Goldberg at this stage. Tensai doesn't do much for Ryback's advancement. Mark Henry is a possibility, but they'd have some mediocre matches, which may hurt Ryback with the fans.
Another possibility is Cesaro. Cesaro is a good enough wrestler to make Ryback look good. He's also over enough with the fans and holds a midcard title. In the long term it would make sense to have them feud over a period of a month or two. He could stay as a upper midcarder until challenging for the WHC against a heel Orton at WM. Another possible scenario is Ziggler interfering. They can come up with some BS excuse about how he'd rather face CM Punk for the WWE title. You could then feud them over a month or two. Ziggler could be to Ryback what Rude was to Warrior.

You may be on to something with Ziggler interfering.
Ziggler cut a promo this week or last saying that he deserves a shot at Punk's WWE belt even though he has the WHC briefcase. Dolph and Ryback have a match on next week's Main Event (2:25 into the video) So, Ziggler has made recent moves to have heat with both participants. It definitely smells like they're setting something up with him. Kind of a "which guy is he going to screw over" deal.

Finally got around to seeing Raw. Here are my thoughts.
CM Punk versus Ryback You know, I've been saying for years that the WWE needs to give young guys a shot. Vince finally does it, and it's Skip fucking Sheffield. I mean, really? There are young, hungry, talented guys in the business like Dolph Ziggler that are right on the cusp of becoming something great, and Vince gives a Goldberg wannabe who just got out of Developmental for the second time a shot at the gold. I just fail to see the logic in this. Unlike F-5, I never cared for power guys who can't spit a complete sentence. I've always looked for wrestlers who can deliver a promo, and back it up in the ring. Hell, a guy doesn't even need to be good in the ring for me to support him as long as he talks the talk and does it well. Power guys like Ryback, on the other hand, have never been the promo type and really don't put on a good match either because they aren't wrestlers. Lesnar used to be a wrestler, and now he's coasting on Michael Cole's MMA hype. Whether we realize it or not, we don't need an ass-kicker with the gold, we need a balanced personality with some character depth. This match is just a shitty move in my opinion because, at Hell In A Cell, we aren't going to see a wrestling match. We're going to see Ryback march around the ring, keep Punk down for most of it, and then Punk is going to cheat to win. Probably by count-out so he doesn't lose his title. This is a nice break from the Punk vs. Cena match we've seen a thousand times, but it still isn't good. Sheamus versus Wade Barrett This was a good match, and this is actually a rivalry that could be great. Barrett's technique has been sloppy since his return, but I still believe that he deserves to be at the top with a little refinement. Great on the mic and I think he's good in the ring. Sheamus has been needing a decent opponent for awhile now being that he's so babyface that you wouldn't even need to butter him up to slide him across the linoleum. Big Show, on the other hand, still needs to retire. No one is getting anything out of seeing him hobble down to the ring every week. Heath Slater, Jinder Mahaal, Drew McIntyre What the hell is this? Daniel Bryan and Kane Michael Cole was right that these guys actually are bringing a new interest to the Tag Team Division. I'm loving Bryan and Kane from week to week-- they're one of the few things that the WWE delivers on and their charisma is awesome. I like them also because they're so heelish, but they walk the line between that and face. Kane chokeslammed the nameless gutless teacher dude (his name isn't worth me knowing), and the people cheered him. That's cool. AJ Lee Still crazy as hell, still adorable as fuck. Mmm. As for the topic at hand, I'd love to see Ziggler interfere but I don't see it happening. I'm a Ziggler mark, but as I've said before, he will never be WWE champ until he sheds Vickie. PS: If you guys are wondering where Seven Churches has gone, he's dealing with some heavy stuff in his personal life and he may be absent for awhile. |

I honestly think Ryback will win the Royal Rumble, headline Mania for the WHC in a 3 way against Dolph and Sheamus. They pushed Del Rio, he won the Rumble. Pushed Sheamus, he won and I wouldn't consider either of them to be worthy, especially Del Rio.
It looks all set up for Ryback but I hope WWE really isn't going to be that predictable. |
