Because Rapidshare is being kind to free users for now at least, I was able to download the documentary in good time. That being said, thanks a lot Alan! I watched it earlier today, interesting story, awesome documentary. It's funny he didn't mention his TNA past at all, but it was insignificant anyways. Moving on...
Thoughts on SmackDown 1.) Well it's The Big Show, opening the show with a promo. Show said Sheamus will join a list of guys he knocked out. Showing a video of guys like Cena, Punk, getting knocked out. Yeah man whatever, out comes Sheamus. Sheamus wanted to shake Show's hand, you know, may the best man win. I noticed that Sheamus hasn't gotten the KO punch from Sheamus. Maybe they are holdin that from happening, if it will happen. When Show refused the handshake, Sheamus showed the video of Bryan cashing in on Big Show! I remember that. I was pretty scared at that moment, but now it's all smiles. GRRR! They showed 18 seconds! That doesn't make me smile, makes me groan. It's funny though, they are using Daniel Bryan as a main part of their storyline! Yeah, use someone that's better than both of them. Hehehe. Show came back in the ring, offered his hand, Sheamus left him hanging. That's about it. Coming from RAW astronomically long opening segment, it felt like a breeze with this one. 8 minutes long. Nothing special though other than the trip down memory lane. 2.) Hmm! Air Jimmy vs. PTP, been there done that, it's been Air Jimmy winning all the matches. Not only did PTP won this match, but pretty cleanly. Titus tripped Kofi when he hit the ropes, Young was the legal man and took advantage. He did his double knee gutbuster, pin. The go home sequence was the best part of the match, everything else was okay. 3.) Commentary said The Ryback's big on social media over the past 2 weeks. I hope in negative terms, people being outraged at the teasing of this guy facing CM Punk in the future. Cole on commentary said The Ryback's reasoning for his beef with CM Punk, sigh, "always looking for my next meal," or whatever. Primo got some offense, but it's the same song and dance. The Ryback wins. 4.) CM Punk and Paul Heyman on SmackDown! Wait a minute, where's the WWE title? They are looking for Ziggler apparently. Anyways, Layla and Alicia Fox wrestled. About 3 or 4 minutes long, but what was a bit interesting: Alicia Fox working on Layla's knee. Smoothly, I didn't see botching, and it was picking apart a body part. Setting up for Layla's comeback and the win with a kick to the head. Decent. 5.) Punk and Heyman confront Ziggler and Vickie. They are mad at Ziggler for following his "old lady," and ditching Punk on RAW. Ziggler's rebuttal was weeks ago when Punk bailed on Ziggler. He called Heyman a worm. Whoa wait, Booker came in, booked Ziggler vs. Punk. Tensai vs. Show is also booked. Uhhh, two heel vs. heel matches in one show? Unique. 6.) Wade Barrett in a PIP promo. Hands of the Barrett Barrage, sweet sounding. He's against a jobber The Ryback didn't destroy. They don't even say the jobber's name, and Cole said it was Man vs. Boy. So just a freaking squash match, but Wade was playing his character, talking and stuff. That was nice. 7.) Why did Sheamus get the jobber entrance? Hahahaha! Oh it makes sense! Miz won! Sheamus jobbed! Ok, let's be serious. Show interrupted and knocked Miz out, disqualifying Sheamus. Commentary this time mentioned the fact Show has not yet done the WMD on Sheamus. So, show what could happen to Sheamus through Miz. A big shame, because without Show's interference, Sheamus was primed to win anyways. The match was standard, in terms of a Sheamus match with a midcarder. Midcarder gets some offense, but it's mostly typical stuff leading to Sheamus getting over. Good wrestling, but eh. Miz's left chest looked pretty red by the way. 8.) David Otunga in the middle of the ring, promo reminding of what happened to Randall last week. On behalf of the locker room, he thanked Del Rio. He said Randall's been a menace to the locker room for a decade. HAHA! I don't doubt that. Randall's theme plaed, but out comes Ricardo and 'Berto. Del Rio copied Randall's entrance, pose at the corner and everything. He even mimicked Randall's monotone, and said "My name is Randy Orton." Even funnier because Randall took Del Rio's "My name is..." schtick. Anyways, back to his normal tone, saying he cut off the Viper's head. He is the new "AH-pex Predator." Booker interrupted, saying Del Rio's schedule is open. Booked a tag team match playa, vs. Team Hell No! 9.) D-Bryan was said to have imitated Otunga with the posing, but it looked like Bryan imitating Hulk Hogan! Later in the match, Bryan was trying to blind tag Kane, but Kane stopped it. Shortly after, Otunga blind tagged Del Rio. Kane chokeslammed Otunga, Bryan blind tagged and did a diving headbutt. I thought all that was a bit cute. The overall match was decent stuff, Team Hell No's at a spot where they make things better with how over they are and how they play their roles. Del Rio left Otunga hanging. Like that will lead anywhere. 10.) Eve and Teddy Long bickering, with Eve still saying Long told her to suspend Beth Phoenix. The bickering grows, Booker stops it, talked to Long alone, his "assets" have to stick together. Ya dig? Sure. 11.) Obvious by the Big Show interference early on, game of one upsmanship here. Sheamus interfered, Brogue Kicked Tensai, Show lost by DQ. That's actually good, Show and Tensai was a match of nothingness. 12.) As heel vs. heel, the match, similar to face/face, is more of a back and forth chess game. One key moment showing that was Punk and Ziggler on the middle rope, pushing each other off the rope. Ziggler fell like Ziggler typically does. Punk's fall was more awkward and causes wincing in pain. There was a pinfall by Punk, then another by Ziggler with the tights hooked, in succession. Seriously, nobody had an advantage, one guy got a move, then the other guy got a move, then that one guy got a move, you get the rest. It was nice to see, but what hurts it is just the fact it's heel vs. heel, who are the fans going to cheer? Not a lot of noise made. The go home was pretty funny. Punk was on the top rope, and how Ziggler stopped that, it makes you think of Flair. He never does a top rope move, getting stopped and thrown on his back. Same thing for Punk and Ziggler. Ziggler was trying a Stinger Splash, missed, GTS for the win, showing how back and forth it was. After the match, Punk's on the commentary table, talked about him and Cena at Hell in a Cell. Still not going to do it. Heh. |

Nah, CM Punk will be champion until the Royal Rumble at least. I have no idea how he is going to beat Cena this time, just because it is Cena and there always has to be some BS ending. I've been asking for a kryptonite finish for years. Green light comes across the ring and Cena just falls to the ground and he can't get up again. The wait continues. I guess Cena could beat CM Punk and CM Punk could regain the title before the Royal Rumble , but I see no point in that at all, other than panic. Cena is always better chasing, for me at least. Have him come close again before he finally gets the title and a win against The Rock at Wrestlemania. If it was me, I'd also have CM Punk beat The Rock, but there is just no way captain Hollywood would be selfless enough to let that happen. Not that the choice is his or anything |
