I think I've successfully given everyone in this thread a hard-on for AJ.
She's cute as fuck, sure, but if she were just another pretty girl, I wouldn't think anything of her. It's her tendencies that make me find the character so attractive. She's manipulative at times, she's clearly got issues, and she goes off on everyone to get what she wants. Not wife material, mind you, but these are the types of girls that I target in real life. It's a mind game for me. I've got my own baggage, sure, but I use that to gain a psychological edge and win. It sounds fucked up, sure, but relationships like that are only centered around sex, not closure. Neither of us will find closure, but finding someone like me and beating them at our own game is so sexy to me. Girls with daddy issues, girls who are pissed at society, girls who are in pain from past relationships-- these are the girls for me. Dysfunction can never turn into normality, so why should people like us illusion ourselves? Now, I'm sure the chick who plays AJ isn't like that at all and is probably quite normal, but it's the character that I find so appealing because I'm just like her, only I'm better at it. I'm sure I wouldn't even like the actress. So, as you can see, it's not all about getting hard over a pretty girl. Creative just happened to get something right that hit home. |

does anyone find the PG rating annoying? AJ is sexy, but nothing compares to the chicks of the attitude era. With the inclusion of a saturday morning kids show, there's going to be even less skin. Since, Linda McMahon started running for Senate she's been trying to clean up the image of the WWE significantly. Since she's out of the running now, can we see another attitude era? I don't think so ..

As a long time wrestling fan I find it to be pussyfied now. Like pulling the fangs on a vampire or a Miss Saudi Arabia contest and all the women are wearing traditional arab garb with every part of their body hidden except their face. It can still be fun and exciting to watch sometimes but its definately lost its edge.

sorry on the confusion - I mean the content. I just think the characters are not developed and totally corny. I mean if all the big names dating back to Shawn Michaels only show up in PPV's then that shows something. It's outrageously cheesy now - and yes they are being smarter with how they bring in money now and they are dominating the social world, so I can't hate on an organization for trying to capitalize on the market.
Totally agree with your points, however, I actually have a friends that work there and they all say that it's Linda's run for office is what really changed a lot about the creative. Also, all the wrestlers are independent contractors. It's crazy how the WWE owns everything about them. When the superstars become world renown for other than wrestling, they actually work deals out with one another to keep the WWE image (Dwayne The Rock Johnson for instance.) Also, 40% of WWE fans are now women. Find that to be a pretty interesting fact. So, then what do you think? Are you still a fan? What was your favorite era? These story lines are pretty pathetic and it's sad that someone as ridiculous as the Miz is even relevant. |
