If you were admin what would you change, add, or remove in planetsuzy?

Sometimes really good threads get an idiot that expresses views he/she should keep to him or herself. The mod locks the thread. Instead wouldn't it be better to delete the offending posts and PM the offender instead of just locking the thread? Locking threads just makes people not want to post or contribute to that section any more.

You used to be able to choose between 5, 10, 20, 30, 40. However, if my memory serves, somewhere along the line our version of vBulletin has decided that it only works when it feels like it on some of those options.

I have vague memories that the "40" option, used to work on page 1, but page 2 would revert to "Forum Default".

Definitely this. There are times I feel an offender is being a dick for the sole purpose of getting a thread they don't like shut down. In cases where obvious trolling is occurring, kill the troll and allow the good discourse to continue. I am sure this would add to the pile of work the admins do, but it would lead to better conversations and perhaps deter people from causing problems just for the lulz.

I believe this is a vBulletin error, and not something we can fix, however, I could be wrong.

It's worked for over 5 years, it's not perfect I agree (as I was one of the thread mods, I do sympathise). However, I've seen much worse, and I really don't know how you could fix the "being able to tell if a post's answered" without having a seperate thread for each request - not very likely. Using the search function can help.

Moderators have to make decisions based on how they see a situation developing. If someone is constantly making inflammatory comments in a thread, it may be considered better to lock the thread early than let the situation escalate. I've locked threads myself, I don't like doing it, but sometimes removing posts ends up as being at best a temporary measure.

I would change the General Discussion Sticky Note for SOTW 2015 into a general SOTW title considering the current SOTW topic has since dropped the annual notation in it's title.
