Sorry but I don't see Rybeck vs. Lesnar unless they build him up big time and by the time that happens Lesnar will already be gone and counting his $$$. Rybeck has not beaten anyone except jobbers. He would need to start beating some big names on the roster if he gonna take on a guy like Lesnar. He just isn't there draw wise presently.

I think Undertaker as the locker room leader he is, didn't take too kindly to Lesnar being given the world in his first run, and just leaving 2 years later. So that's where the animosity is, certainly makes sense.
Thoughts on NXT. 1.) Oh so the NXT title match will be next week? Alrighty then. Antonio Cesaro, not having the US title since this was taped before he won it. Just dodged a move from Bateman, did his dead lift gut wrench, then the Neutralizer. So Bateman did most of the offense, but he was good at it. Not too long a match. 2.) HAHA! WWE superstars commenting on being the first NXT Championship. Guess who was the first one talking about it? Daniel Bryan. John Cena, Christian, Santino, Miz, Kofi Kingston were also there. Cool. Cena must've had free time to comment. 3.) Ok, I think I know why Sofia Cortez got released. Because she has the same name as a pornstar. I just found out about that, but that can't be a reason. Taped before her release, Sofia and Tamina. Match was pretty good, Sofia was in control, did her kicks and tried to ground Tamina. Tamina though made her comeback, superkick, splash, standard stuff. Racquel Diaz came out and branded Tamina as a loser. 4.) Jake Carter? Wait a second. I thought he was in a tag team in one of the early episodes of NXT. He's Vader's son. Not a squash match, as Jake Carter was put over by Regal, the match was decent time, but Ohno winning wasn't doubtful. What's funny is how Carter looks better than his dad, to the point that his face in selling for Ohno was rather nice. Richie Steamboat saved Carter from being beaten further. Why? Because he's a babyface. 5.) Another NXT title video. Ted DiBiase and Dolph Ziggler are there. Cena and Santino again. It's strange it seems to take into account the 8 tourney participants, and not just Rollins and Mahal. Not knowing what the fans chanted to McGuillicutty last week, there was a sign this week that said "SHAW." So I guess that's it. I think it's what HHH says when he's doing a barrage of punches. A play on HHH reportedly being high on him? 6.) Michael McGuillicutty and Johnny Curtis teaming up again? They teamed a bit on the last season of NXT, and before on this season. They might as well be an official tag team or something. Kidd and Gabriel also have teamed together, more often than the heels. I never saw Curtis try, uhh, twisting senton splash? Only top rope move I know he does is a leg drop. Also, McGuillicutty and Curtis did a tag team move: sideslam by McGuillicutty while Curtis slingshot into a leg drop. Tyson Kidd botched his double jump moonsault thinger, and the fans just groaned. Not the more blatant "you fucked up" chant, some respect there. Kidd and Gabriel won with a tag team move of their own, Kidd holding Curtis up for a blockbuster by Gabriel from the top rope. All that said, it was actual tag team wrestling, JR was on commentary here. Actual tag team wrestling, it was really good. Interview Briley Pierce talked to Kassius Ohno. He accepted Richie Steamboat's challenge. Why? Because he's a heel. 7.) Byron Saxton in the ring for the face off between Mahal and Rollins. Saxton called Mahal the Punjabi Nightmare. Didn't Khali have that name before being Punjabi Playboy? Well Rollins talked English, Mahal didn't do so much of that. Mahal also said "you sounded like just like..." That's pretty redundant and funny, trying to waylay into Rollins. Rollins did his retort, and then Mahal got the fight going. Not the best talkers, but at least Rollins gets a legitimate reaction because of his ring ability. So even though he's not a great talker, he will still get cheered. Jinder here is just a foreign heel, of course he'd get booed, but nothing more from the heart. Good segment to build up the title match though, but there's no need to predict who's going to win. One guy has a feud with The Ryback and is a WWE Superstar. Also, the official website of NXT Wrestling right at the front page, shows their champion. After watching the segment, and going back through the show, it turns out the first video package on the NXT title, showed clips of that closing segment. I didn't even notice it until after the show. That's weird, spoiling the segment before it happened, just minutes before. |

I notice the WWE is great at bringing in good, powerful guys to just let them die. They made a push for Khali, at first. Now, he is a "circus-kissing-freak." Even when they had big names like Goldberg and Steiner, they did nothing with them. Could that be why Rock always tries to start an acting career?

I can understand why The Funkasaurus is there. Nice gimmick for kids to enjoy. I'm not too bothered with him Ryback is there because somebody has a muscle head fetish.WWE must not be too confident in his ability since he is still facing the same level of competition. I guess some would consider Jinder Mahal a step up. |

I like Clay and his gimmick. At least now he is feuding with a mid carder (Sandow) and maybe they can have a good series of matches.

Am I the only one that refuses to take Ryback/Skip Sheffield seriously? I mean, that little one foot in the air thing he does on the ramp, that hilarious stare, 'feed me more'? Come on. He's a mid-carder for a reason. He's a veggie burger-- all fluff, no content. We saw in his NXT and Nexus days that he couldn't operate a mic to save his life, and that's all I think about when I see him now. I just can't take the guy seriously.

Now, I do think that guys like Kofi and R-Truth could be main-eventers if they weren't such comic book characters. R-Truth had a good thing going as a heel with The Miz. He could be one of the best if given the right character depth. And Kofi? He may not be the biggest dude, but with a little training, I could see him main-eventing someday soon. He needs to drop the Marley thing, though. Seriously, I've been to Jamaica and people don't act like that. I've also been to Compton, and it's actually a lot cheesier than R-Truth is putting off, but the point is that the WWE needs to stop it with the black stereotypes right now. Let them be wrestlers, give them some depth as people. The color of their skin shouldn't define who they tag with. Quote:
And yeah, I'm not going to try to spell Santino's last name. It was between Mariachi and Parabola. Who the hell is Antonio Cesaro? I like that name though. It's fun to say. An-ton-yo Ce-sar-yo! |
