I just watched this weeks edition of Beyond the Octagon (the UFC's companion proggy in the UK if you haven't heard of it). Guests were two of the Irish fighters starring on the current season of TUF - Cathal Pendred and Chris Fields.

They were discussing the Jones/Texiera fight in detail. According to Pendred and Fields it is illegal to leave your hand extended with fingers open the way Jones was doing it. So I'm wrong about that - sorry for my statments to the contrary.

why the hell isnt brad pickett co headlining the dublin card? two none brits co headlining an ireland card seems like a bad choice. brad is always fun and one of the better known names over here. hes like one of two to ever beat mighty mouse!!

Pad thanks a lot! Downloaded from mega and it was very fast. Very interesting to hear their thoughts and agreeing that Jones did fight very well but the hand out was an issue. I believe we will see that issue get a lot more attention after that fight as it should. I mean it needs clarification as to what's legal and what isn't and then if you're gonna warn be willing to take points for a violation right away to make sure we get a good clean fair fight.

"That" is cornering from one of the most respected trainers in the sport, Greg Jackson. You got to remember, fighters have a minute between rounds to slow their heart rate back down and while it may seem like an obvious/easy thing to do, these guys are in a high-pressure situation and it's easy for rational thinking to go out of the window.

If you think that's amusing, you should find the Georges St. Pierre fight (can't remember who he fought) where GSP tells him "I think I pulled my groin" and Jackson snaps and tells him, "I don't care Georges. You hit him with it!" That was funny!

It's a bit hard to get too excited for this UFC Fight Night card. I am looking forward to the main event, Koch, Horiguchi and Wineland fights, though.
