It's not boxing either. Sure if you put a bantamweight in there with a heavyweight, the bantamweight will most likely get his head knocked off. It's not boxing/fighting, it is wrestling. You can use your speed and stamina to your advantage. you could say you could do the same in a boxing match, but it's just punching. How many wrestling manoeuvres are there? Start counting now and I bet you will still be counting this time next year.
Seven Churches already mentioned psychology, that's what it is all about. Your ability to make me believe in what is happening. CM Punk beating Big Show or Tensai or Kane is no big deal to me because he is good at what he is doing. Same with Bryan and HBK etc. |

Hurting his paycheck at one of the big 4 PPVs (RR, WM, SS, and SS) of the year MIGHT be one of the WWEs method's of punishment (to remind him not to smoke pot or take steroids or whatever it was he took to get put on the bench like they did).

It probably was done (the promo) while he as out on his wellness suspension. Now Orton's doing the classic "trying to keep it secret until his surprise appearance/match" swerve on Twitter. Meaning he'll be there.

Random attack from Tensai on Raw to set up a match. Kevin Nash vs Randy Orton
2 more matches are on for Summerslam . Brodus Clay vs Damien Sandow and Chris Jericho vs Dolph Ziggler. It was pretty obvious they were both going to happen. |

Thoughts on NXT.
1.) There was a funny chant for Justin Gabriel, "get a haircut." Another funny chant, this time for Michael McGuillicutty was "not so perfect." McGuillicutty advanced in a pretty good match. Both guys did a very impressive move. Gabriel, who always does good moves, did one kind of powerbomb, looked the a Blue Thunder variation. Michael McGuillicutty was able to do an inside cradle, rolling to a Perfectplex. That was very fluid. JR said it was "almost perfect, to say the least." So McGuillicutty dodges a top rope springboard moonsault from Gabriel, hits his McGuillicutter thinger, wins, and will face Seth Rollins in the semifinals. Interesting. 2.) Kassius Ohno! KO was able to get a more glorified squash going on, showing off his impressive ability. The best move of the match with him and CJ Parker, was Parker running into a big boot by Ohno. It was pretty damn awesome, also the elbow to the back of the head. Knockout. I heard a "Jesus" chant, which is funny because Ohno looks like the guy. 3.) Backstage after the upset tag team win over Hunico and Camacho, Dalton and Jordan were interviewed. Oh yeah, so happy, I mean, Hunico and Camacho, they're SmackDown SuperStars! Huzzah. Pretty cute of them, they want to be in a team. 4.) There was a promo video on Ascension. Pretty gimmicky to say the least, and even the maniacal laughing. Cool. 5.) Tamina and Paige vs. Kaitlyn and Caylee Turner (Alicia Fox's sister and the ring announcer for NXT). William Regal said Kaitlyn has "walnut crushing thighs." Errr, sounds erotic. Paige got a tag in and the fans came alive, showing that she has some attention to herself. Tamina also got a chant for her, and it was during a rest hold applied by Turner. That's fine, but I think part of that is because Caylee is a rather sloppy worker, just like her sister. Paige got the inside cradle for a win, which was nice to see. She had some time to show some of her ability, such as a fall away like slam on Turner. 6.) Derrick Bateman and Bo Dallas talking. Dallas looks like Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat. Too bad he can't do a flying bicycle kick. It would own the shit out of the Brogue Kick. 7.) Jinder Mahal did the Flatliner! That's a Scott Steiner move I think. He and Bo Dallas aren't really the best of wrestlers, so the action wasn't too exciting. There was a nice move where Mahal pulled Dallas' arm, and his neck hit the top rope. Must've hurt. With being part of the tournament, and a possibly developing feud with The Ryback, I wonder if Jinder is being seen as the next big foreign heel wrestler. Ehhh, he still got miles to go, but he's getting there. William Regal on commentary shared a lot of experiences he has had (always does, just this week was more notable for some reason), involving a lot of international travel, wrestling guys not really talked about. Say him actually wrestling Justin Gabriel's father, or wrestling in the carnival circuit where Paige's wrestling trainer, Klondike Kate. Without Regal, I wouldn't really know that Jinder Mahal apparently comes from a wrestling family. Nor would I have known that Tamina and Kaitlyn can squat 300 or so pounds. This is my first crack at GIF making... |
