People who say well your just lucky when someone works hard to achieve their goals. No Ass--------they worked hard to be where they are, to get the things they got, they made the sacrifices. So don't belittle them. You want what they have, work hard yourself.

When you order food and the website lists your delivery time as 28 minutes and the guy shows up at 90 minutes (the food is cold) and the driver doesn't even say a word about being late.
Also the restaurants keep raising the delivery charge and on top of that we are supposed to tip the driver. Papa Ginos charges $3.75 for delivery charge so I also tip the driver $1.25 ($5.00 total). |

Then you are lucky. They are each independently owned I think so quality of service can vary. Google reviews of my local shop are on the weak side (3.5 out of 5 stars).

I've made it a point to try to order locally and tend to go pick it up myself or send someone from the office to get it. I'm fortunate to be in a high density area where we have several options for ordering food.
I'm just not a fan of these delivery services such as GrubHub, Diner Dash, UberEats, Eat24, etc. ever since the behavior I saw when I was at the local pizza joint to pick up a pizza. I got there around dinner time and had to patiently wait in line behind several other patrons that had ordered before me. I had gotten there a few minutes before my pizza was due so it was no big whoop, but then one of these delivery service people showed up and barged themselves ahead to the counter. She [I]demanded[/ her food order from the poor young clerk. She was told to step to one side and wait as her food wasn't even up yet. The rest of the line, myself included got served and the delivery person's food wasn't even up yet. What got me was her sense of entitlement just because she was working for one of these food services. If she had gotten into line with the rest of us like a civilized person and gotten up to the counter, she would've had her order up at the appointed time. It would've also been a different thing if this pizza joint had a dedicated window/ service area for pick-up and deliveries but all of the food was carry-out. Just because she shows up in a red insulated delivery bag, a cute sign on the top of her car and an embroidered hat did not give her carte blanche nor any implied privilege over the rest of us that had ordered our food. Nor did it give her any reasoning to berate the person on the other side of the counter. While I'm sure it's a convenience for some, it's a service I won't be using any time soon. |
