I'm having troubles downloading playlists from Youtube, currently.
Despite setting multiple connections, a 200 MB video takes roughly over 20 minutes to download, whether with 4K Video Downloader it would've only took 20 seconds.

Unfortunately 4K Video Downloader no longer works correctly with Youtube, due to the shitty implementations that Youtube has introduced, to not let people download anything for FREE anymore. And downloading 1 video at a time, from a 90 videos playlist, is just tiresome.

So I was wondering if someone got any luck downloading anything from Youtube with JDownloader at their regular ISP speeds or not, and what settings you had to change.

Only youtube settings I know are in the Settings menu > Plugins > Youtube



Try adding a free account and see if your JD download speed improves comparing to no account at all.

I know if you add a premium account you shouldn't have speed limitations at all.

Mine only updates when I exit the program.
Search for Update in Advanced Settings.

Why don't you turn Auto-update off?
Or change the frequency of Update checks? Default is 600 thousand milliseconds (10 minutes).

It does if you correctly setup the Reconnection feature (download a file, disconnect Internet, reconnect with a new IP address, download a new file).

'Well', the linkgrabber of JDownloader2 doesn't seem to work very well nowadays - esp. with links of FB & K2S:
1) picking up DDLs with or without "bypass" (like "sendurl") with JD-grabber-option doesn't function properly
2) JD needs expanded time to read out and to pick links into the download-list
3) and in the following the download of these DDLs doesn't start >just in time< if ever (!)
despite of active premium-accounts @ FB + K2S)

You can ignore the updates, if everything works well for you and just do them when you feel like it. This will make it easier:

Thing about JD is, updates actually fix stuff. Maybe nothing that one will notice, because it's not something one uses. There's days & weeks with none at all too and then flood gates open. Their work is really amazing. Crazily dedicated crew! Some of the features for plugins are so damn great. Wouldn't want to miss it.

which had a huge database for image and videohoster - a local multihoster helper so to speak...

did i miss something about jdownloader2?

pepo was regularly dl'ing vids from youtube before i went on vacation a month or so ago. Now that i am back, when ever i try to dl from youtube and i go to add the link to jdownloader2, nothing happens. it is working normal on everything but youtube so i dont know if something has changed recently that i didn't see.

I have tried on 2 different laptops (windows10 and windows11) and on Firefox, Chrome & Edge and getting the same non-results.

Did anything new happen recently? TIY.
