As for "the best ever" I think nobody would care if the announcers were honest and said "just watch the last match, but pay for the entire program."

Hell, go to WWE, R-Truth. Face in early 2011, turned heel in the middle of the year, got suspended, and is now a face again. I guess Christian can be on that too: face in half of 2011, heel in the other half. Come back as a face. I think Big Show's most recent face run was the longest run he had as a face or heel. About 2 years. |

Something that just hit me was Mick Foley's 3rd book. In it, he talked about the hardcore match he had with Edge. After the match, he and Edge got to the mic and called it the best hardcore match of all time. Because they said that, many fans would soon follow and think that too. As if treating fans as sheep (even though that match was awesome). There's a mentality in WWE that what is presented on TV, is supposed to do this, or make you feel that. So if they WM27 was the best at the time, they will rely on fans to buy into that. Especially if they hammer the viewer by repeating it ad nauseam. It's like repeating a lie, eventually it becomes the truth. I also wouldn't say WM27 was the worst. I'm more inclined to think Wrestlemania IX was the worst Wrestlemania of all time. |

Too many WWE champions.
I was watching a WWE show that I recorded, the one when Brock broke HHH's arm. There was a match with the Miz, and they said he was a WWE champion. Is that true? Was it a 10 second reign or were they just saying that he is a "wrestler that wins."
There have been too many title changes to keep track of who has been a champ. It is bad enough that Bryan was champ and held it for so long, but a bunch of nothings/unseeded wrestlers that got a chance with those "royal rumble" matches to determine the #1 contender. Is WWE selling out to be the only remaining brand that keeps current fans?

don't you remember that Miz was the most see WWE champion in history, and angry girl face?
Wrestlemania 9 gets a bad rap, it didn't have much going for it, horrible ending with Hogan. I guess Tatanka vs Shawn Michaels was alright. I'm just real happy I didn't have to watch WM 2 or 4 live. |

He didn't have too bad of a title run. I guess if we are comparing him to guys like Jack Swagger then it was pretty good. It lasted 5 or 6 months? I know he lost it at last year Extreme Rules to John Cena, and lost a bunch of rematches as well. Since then he hasn't done much except cry and lose. The break he is taking to film marine 3 might rejuvenate his career.
I'm not going to say that it can't get any worse because this is WWE and it can. |

Uhm, dude. Miz was champion from November 2010 to April 2011. Goodness, he beat John Cena in the main event of Wrestlemania 27. Even though the truth is that Rock beat Cena, Miz just got the pinfall. He lost the championship in a triple threat steel cage match, got a rematch with Cena at OTL in a pretty bad I Quit match. I disagree with "too many WWE champions." The championship is 49 years old. There have been 43 total champions so far. I think that's pretty interesting. Not only that, CM Punk has stabilized the WWE championship, as the Summer and Fall of last year was just ridiculous in hot potato booking.
If anything the world title picture has been less chaotic, more stable. Henry had the world title for about 3 months, Bryan had it for a surprising 4 months, and Sheamus is looking to be a very long term world champion. You know what's strange? It hit me recently, all the titleholders right now, in WWE, are faces. No love for the bad guy? |

IRT Big Show's turns: It was just recently a question on 411mania, and the answer was 20 (or 18, depending on how you viewed him when Hogan joined the NWO). Both Kane & Luger have had a ton of turns, but I'm thinking Show's had the most.

Reason: I had forgotten a point I wanted to make
IRT Miz: He was doing fine as a heel champ until the ramp-up to Mania, and then he was made to look irrelevant and weak as they built up Rock & Cena's problems. And even though Miz won, it hurt him more than helped him, IMHO. All in all, his run as the MITB briefcase holder with A-Ry at his side was probably his best time in the WWE. As one of the few fans of his, I hope his role in the Marine leads to something of a push when he gets back. And IRT too many champs: It's only a problem for me now that the brand extension is over. I hate that there's a "World Champ" and "WWE Champ" (although I think it's funny that in the WWE Universe, the "WWE Championship is considered more prestigious, as if WWE is bigger than the World) on the same shows. I hate that there is both a US and IC title and that they appear interchangeably. For such a small roster, it's cluttered with champs. I'm Ok with the lengths of the reigns, but am tired of there being so many title-holders. EDIT: IRT "the best ever": Does anyone remember Nitro during the Monday Night Wars, when Schiavone would say "This is the biggest night in the history of our sport" literally every week? It was so laughable, and now the WWE is doing something not so different. |
