Always By My Maybe

A very funny romcom.

The main female character has a very strong character (*) and it boosts the movie.
I didn't know Ali Wong, but it appears she's a (quite famous?) stand up actress from San Francisco.

Not a big fan of the kind of music Randy Park is performing in that movie, but I have to say the lyrics are catchy, and the one used for the ending credits made me laugh!

The scene with Keannu Reeves in restaurant is just hilarious!

(*) Don't know if it's right to use the word "character" two times in the same sentence...

Two movies, same era, same name, but one is good while the other one is awful: Escape Game.

The starting point is very similar in both movies, and in some words the plot is the same: a group of people are enclosed in an escape game. If they lose they die, if they win they live.

Some kind of Saw.

Escape Room (2017)

A group of friends celebrate a birthday by spending a night in an escape game they know nothing about (note: they enter the game after 45 minutes of movie...).
One of the girl of the team is trapped naked in a cage... Well, it appears there is no reason to be naked or to be in a cage... but anyway, we don't know who is the manager of the game, why he does it, why he's chosen these young people...

In short: empty and boring.

Escape Room (2019)

The team is not a group of friends, but apparently people with nothing in common. But that's not the only difference with the other movie. Here, everything is explained: Why those people, why the killer kills, etc. Plus, the movie set and mysteries are much more interesting.

So from my point of view, don't waster your time watching the 2017 one. But the latter deserves to be watched if you like that kind of movie.

Not really, to be honest. The SAW movies are unique, on their own, as they have lots of philosophy about life (lots of Buddhism recurring elements, much like in Fight Club) other than just the traps.
So I would definitely put the SAW movies under a different umbrella, than just Horror. Philosophical/Psychological Thriller seem to be more appropriate.

Regardless, if you saw them all up till Jigsaw, you can't really not feel sorry for John, at the end.
Wish Dr. Gordon had more screen time, though.

This is the first time I've seen Zsa Zsa Gabor young. WOW! WIKI says she married 9 times!
For a 1958 movie it was pretty imaginative. That looks like a HD flat screen monitor.
