Please, please, please if you are encoding anything or re-encoding never ever use Variable Frame Rates, always use Constant, it's a nightmare to deal with after the fact for any editing and some software can't even deal with it causing corrupted frames, choppy playback and audio sync errors. Media Player Classic and Davinci Resolve are at least 2 that don't like it and it doesn't save a huge amount of file size.
In fact just don't mess with frame rates at all, broadcasters don't use VFR for the same reasons so why should you! |
