Thoughts on Raw:
The Three Stooges This is the epitome of why I hate guest stars being on Raw-- they take a synthesized view of wrestling and broadcast it. It comes off as completely cheap, and there's no place for it in the wrestling business as far as I'm concerned. If you want to bring wrestlers onto your show, sure, narrow it down to the kiddy "I'm going to beat you" shit, but don't do it on our show. It makes these actors look weak and it makes the wrestlers look worse because you know the actors are going to get the last word. This was bullshit, as usual. Anyone remember back in WCW when the guy who played the fat Stooge (never been a fan) got into this feud with some wrestler when he was on Mad TV and it went to PPV? Wasn't it Big Show? Man, that was terrible. I've seen nothing better since. Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk I've said this before, but I hate the direction of this feud for personal reasons. I had an alcoholic father growing up, and he's still an alcoholic, so you can understand that this gets under my skin a little bit, though. All of these definitive statements from Jericho just hit me the wrong way because it is a dirty play, but at the same time, I respect his methods. I just hate the topic. The whole thing about pouring whiskey last week and then beer this week on Punk really doesn't bother me so much, though. My dad's an alcoholic, but I have no problem touching alcohol as long as it's rare and in moderation. It's a good statement to be sure. I'm surprised that he doesn't actually force the alcohol down his throat-- that would be better. He's hated for this, though, and I like that. I doubt that this will eventually turn Punk, but this is close to the chest and I can see that. Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena I thought it was a bit of a cop out to throw Lesnar in with Johnny's crew, but you know that I love a good heel stable. Lesnar is a step in the right direction for them if they're going to do it right. They just need to get rid of all the second-tier wrestlers like Otunga. Throwing Lesnar in with Laurenitus puts Cena at odds with the whole crew, though, and I think it's a little late for that. Johnny's already got power over both brands, and Cena was too busy with the Rocky feud at the time when it was right to choose a side. I would've liked it better if Lesnar came in just for himself and targeted the golden boy. It's a more cohesive statement. While Lesnar was a UFC god, he saw Cena every damn week in his old company, and he's back to take over. His affiliation with Laurenitus, though, trumps that. It says that he walked in the door, joined up with whatever was going on at the time, and went with that instead of bulldozing through the current trends and making his own way. It lessens his tougher-than-shit gimmick. You know what else trumps his gimmick? The windbreakers and Sketchers. If you're going to wear a badass t-shirt, at least dress badass from the waist down. |

you must be talking about Bret Hart vs Will Sasso, I'm not sure if they wrestled on Pay per view. I had stopped watching WCW by then. I vaguely remember reading something about it.
I couldn't agree more about the guest host. it is ridiculous . At least it is not as bad as when they had a host every week. I hear what you're saying about Brock. He is fresh in so they should make him stand out / be different as long as they can. At least he called us 'fans' and not 'WWE Universe'. |

Didn't The Giant get in a feud with him too? Eh, I'm not sure. I remember that WCW did a lot with MadTV back then.
I rode with WCW until I saw Vince on my TV saying the Monday Night Wars were over. I loved the WWF too, but it was more of an adult product back then. Looking back, the Attitude Era is right up my alley right now, but I just couldn't appreciate it for what it was at the time because I was just a kid. I liked the dark characters the WWF had to offer, though. The Undertaker and HHH and Goldust and Mankind? Holy shit, they were dark to me, but they were cool. That's why I liked Sting in WCW, only he was more on my level. He was dark and larger than life. Even as a face, man, he had this Crow thing going on that blew my mind. Yeah, the general terms they use in WWE get on my nerves too. "WWE Universe", "Superstars", et cetera. We're fucking fans, and we're here to watch wrestling. |

I'm glad that the fans booed the Stooges. After this, I don't think the writers will want to bring a celeb to promote their movie unless its a wwe star in the movie.

Actually, the guest hosts are used as a promotional tool for movies and TV shows now, much like a late night talk show is. In the case of The Stooges on Raw, well it got people talking even if it was how shitty their segments were. I'm glad Kane came down and chokeslammed Will Sasso though. When he was involved in WCW it was a joke. Once again, WCW in the end = bad TV.
Lesnar vs Cena in my opinion, it's great that they have had them go at each other right away. Cena just spent the past year just talking at The Rock. Sure there has been a Rock Bottom here and an AA there, but they spent the whole year basically just talkin shit and then Boom, Wrestlemania. Feud over. And there was nothing wrong with that...it was a great way to build to the match and if it wasn't acouple amazing guys on the mic, it wouldn't have worked. With Lesnar's mic skills, they would be able to do that so let them do what they do best...fight. Simple build to a match I'd say. Not everything has to be a slow build. Lesnar only signed a one year deal...let's just get to it..hahaha |

Thoughts on SuperSmackdown
1.) DANIEL BRYAN ON PIPER'S PIT?! Son of a bitch that's amazing! Everyone looks 100 times better with the world heavyweight championship. Sheamus for examples looks much better with the big gold title around his waist. Sheamus got the mic from Mean Gene Okerlund. There was a light Daniel Bryan chant in the beginning of his promo. Sheamus wanted to apologize for kicking Chad Patton in the head. If it wasn't for Sheamus, I would not have known the ref's name. John Laurinaitis interrupted Sheamus. Laurinaitis is more angry than usual. He wants Sheamus to apologize, again. Johnny Ace laying the hammer down! He fined Sheamus 500 grand AND he's on probation. If Sheamus does anything bad to a ref, he's fired. Sheamus is forced to team with Mean Gene and face American and Mexican Dragon, Daniel Bryan and Alberto Del Rio. 2.) Randall's daddy talking with his boy. How cute. Where's his cast? 3.) Orton and Mark Henry had a nice match. So Randall's dad came in use, to continue the feud between Kane and Orton. Kane interrupted Randall in his match, standing over a fallen Bob Orton. Kane hit Orton with a steel pipe. Good thing Randall's daddy didn't bleed. I read he has Hep C. I think fans laughed at Kane's "sucker for family reunions" remark. That was pretty funny. 4.) Tony Atlas, Pat Paterson, Ted DiBiase, and Hillbilly Jim, watching Ryback squash a jobber! WWE should get more jobbers, rather than use their low carders as enhancement talent for squash matches. Ryback did a sick clothesline, and that's about it. Tony Atlas' laugh was hilarious. I'd like it more if he did a lariat, same impact. 5.) Heath Slater and Tyson Kidd getting together as a team. Slater got Jimmy Hart to manage them for a night. Hey, legendary manager. It helps. Mick Foley on commentary? Cole alluded to Foley's chapter on his time in SD commentary in 2008 on one of his books. Foley made a subtle jab to Vince McMahon, referring an annoying guy in his ear while on commentary. Vince must be in a good mood to let that. Foley also borrowed an Owen Hart quote. The match really was nothing to talk about. The Usos got airtime and won, but the distractions were commentary and Jimmy Hart on his megaphone. Foley then used Mr. Socko on Jimmy Hart. 6.) Cole alluded to a woman having her mole bitten off the face in a Piper's Pit. They didn't say her name, Jillian Hall. I remember that moment, it was DISGUSTING! Daniel Bryan was brought out, happy with the "Yes!" and even acknowledging his great support in the crowd. Daniel Bryan announced that him and Sheamus will have a 2 out of 3 falls match, awesome. AJ was brought out, and said Bryan is actually a nice person. AJ said it was her fault, and made a mistake. Bryan was cracking a little smile. She wants to go back to the best wrestler in the world! Piper tried to talk her out of it, and Bryan comes in and wants her to leave the ring. There was an AJ chant before she walked out of the ring. Bryan laughed, which was sweet. Roddy Piper then gave him a series of "Nos." How he said them was incredible. He really knows how to get a point across. Sadly, not everyone agreed. Even after Bryan slapped Piper across the face, some fans still "Yes" it up. I did as well . He did a great job, Roddy was awesome, AJ's acting was well done. Overall, a quality segment, and it was live! 7.) Drew McIntyre ditched the Bellas, Khali did NOTHING, and Alicia Fox beat the Bellas. Natalya didn't do anything. Uhm, ok. Commentary's remarks on Khali on how well he moves and ances was nice. Mae Young appeared and kissed Khali. Man, this really isn't SmackDown, where's the wrestling? 8.) Damien Sandow talked about sophistication. He targeted social media! He said it contributes to social decay. He's right. HHH must be in this guy's ear, because I don't think Hunter has a Twitter or a Facebook. 9.) Jim Duggan and Hunico wrestled for a couple seconds, and then he brought out Sgt. Slaughter, who gave Duggan the 2x4. Why did they have to show Sheamus and Mean Gene talking, twice. Before this match, after. Hunico technically didn't job, which would've been deadly. 10.) Cody Rhodes got on the mic live in the ring! Yeah, that's what I want. Rhodes talked about the future, and how legends shouldn't hog the spotlight. It was getting somewhere, but then Cody's pappy came out. Not surprising. Dusty was trying to talk some sense in Cody, but he didn't want to feel embarrassed. As he was about to leave, Big Show interrupted. Big Show presented the real Cody Rhodes. He showed one of Cody's vignettes from his Dashing days. The one where he applied lip gloss to his lips! The women were screaming. That was actually funny. I guess he wanted to forget his Dashing days. They were pretty fun. 11.) Lilian's introduction for Ricardo was very fluent in Spanish, which made it much better. Then Ricardo continues to the hot streak with his always awesome introduction for Del Rio. Howard Finkel then introduced Mean Gene and Sheamus. 12.) There was a "Si" chant for a bit. Another match that didn't have a lot of wrestling. The heels and Ricardo wanted to beat on Mean Gene. All the legends came out, distracted Bryan, and Sheamus Brogue Kicked him for the pin. I disagree with that, because it weakens Bryan who's getting a freaking world title match with...Sheamus. Ehhh, logic thrown out the door just to give legends some shine. Ok. Cole interrupted, and got punched by Patterson. That was cool. WWE should seriously stop SuperSmackdown. There was only one good SuperSmackdown, and that was the very first one, headlined by a classic steel cage match between Christian and Orton. The others were just specialty shows that went far out the SD paradigm (which I prefer), just to get some celebration across. Last time, it was over Christmas, this time, over legends. As a specialty show, it's good for some people, it's bad for others. I lean towards the latter, as I was not too entertained at all. Just because it wasn't the SD I come to know and love. Not to stay sour, at least, it's a show to roll one's eyes over. Al Sharpton was the worst guest host ever. The man came, he saw, and he sucked. Plug his crap and go home, was all he did. The best ones are those who are either former wrestlers, or wrestling fans. Real ones, such as Shaq. I don't know about Jon Heder, but his outfit was hilarious. The NASCAR guys were atrocious and uncharismatic. The NASCAR guy who did the backflip was ok. Mike Tyson was a good one. The Korean and Jeremy "cup of coffee with Kelly Kelly" Piven sucked. Dennis Miller's comedy doesn't go over with a majority of fans, who don't actively follow politics. Wayne Brady was good because he got RKOd, Bob Barker was good because he argued with Chris Jericho (who stole that RAW, just like he stole every RAW during that guest host peak). Man, if only Clint Eastwood was called to host, and he's a real wrestling fan. That would be great. |

Hugh Jackman was a good guest host too. One of the best.
I don't see Bryan winning the 2/3 falls match at extreme rules but he will at least get a chance to show his stuff. Should be a good match. |

Mike Tyson was the best guest host. It was hilarious when he saw Hornswoggle and he says ''fascinating'' was like he had not seen a midget before. At least Tyson respects the business, he is always happy to be there and not just there to promote shit I don't care about.

Hugh Jackman was good too. I'm stealing a quote I heard, but it is one I'm in complete agreement with. Quote:
I don't know who Tim Tebow is. Apparently him and John Cena are the same person. http://nfl.com/news/story/09000d...content_stream |
