JR also speculated that there will be more roster callups, and there is always talk on "Spring Cleaning," as in guys getting cut from the roster. Dean Ambrose is on the brink, Seth Rollins is second place. Anybody else, I don't know. Knowing of Kassius Ohno and Antonio Cesaro, I wish they got on the main roster ASAP. I remember a report of WWE planning a Cruiserweight show for the WWE Network. I wish that's true, as I have no indication. Brodus should wrestle Tensai, also, Mark Henry. While he's at it, team with Big Show at least once. Those are interesting scenarios. |

I thought Friday was the first time I had seen him. 2006 is a blur when it comes to Raw and Smackdown. I can only remember ppvs. Reading that he was on Smackdown made me think he must be rubbish because I couldn't remember him
He got a second chance to make a first impression. Good debut, he kept my attention so it was a success. I don't think he will suffer the same fate as Johnny Curtis. If he is a student of the game, then you have to think he has a chance to succeed. |

I still can't help but feel that Bryan is in the doghouse with the WWE brass. He lost in 18 seconds at the biggest profile match of his career and has barely been seen since. Did he get injured and they are trying to backpeddle him until he heels up? Or is this a swerve to bigger and better things for him?
Being a WWE fan for 40+ years makes me think this smells like a punishment for doing something he should not have. |

I don't see him doing anything above jobbing to midcard faces. (And since Alan K mentioned Johnny Curtis: He's actually been AWESOME lately, on NXT. Him/Maxine/Derrick Bateman/Kaitlyn had an awesome 'love rectangle' going for a while.) And IRT Daniel Bryan being "punished" ... I think they kept him off of Raw because they thought he'd get a face pop, and they want to keep him as a heel storyline-wise. On Smackdown, they can edit in boos for him & cheers for Sheamus. (Then again, tonight's a live Smackdown, I think, so we'll see what happens.) |

If you look at his promo on SmackDown, and everyone knows how WWE logic tends to be flawed, Bryan's treatment at Wrestlemania was done to get AJ off of his back. He blamed her for costing him the world title, his character seems to develop into being more serious. Reading of Bryan and Sheamus advertised for a Last Man Standing match, it makes me think Bryan will be bringing a harder fight to Sheamus. Maybe they are holding him back and feeding Del Rio to Sheamus. So when Sheamus is done with him, Bryan swoops in with a harder edge. I liken it to Kurt Angle's wrestling machine persona. He was a heel, but won cleanly more often than dirty. If that happens, I'll be happy. A more serious Bryan could mean the WWE debut of his continuous elbow strikes (that CM Punk ripped off all over Christian), or continuous stomps to the head. Those would be awesome.
I watch NXT regularly. For a long time it has gone through the motions, but recently, the writing seems more focused on developing characters. What's unique is that stuff there, would never make it to WWE main shows. A love rectangle? Yeah, the writing seems more loose over there. Sometimes, to the point of it being more illogical than the main show storylines. Matt Striker was kidnapped, but he's still doing commentary on Superstars. The explanation from Johnny Curtis was that they found a double. You can't make this stuff up. Characters are being developed there, just like in WWECW. Johnny Curtis, Derrick Bateman, Maxine, and Kaitlyn are better as a result. Kaitlyn is improving a bit, Maxine has character, but is a decent wrestler. Bateman is funny, and Johnny Curtis has his own little thing going for him. Let's get weird? Seldom seen WWE stars like Hawkins and Reks are more important there. They seem to dominate that show, and both guys are actually great wrestlers. In today's wrestling, they are taking advantage of whatever opening they have. The problem in today's wrestling are young guys being too impatient and complain too much without showing for it. Those two at least get their jobs done. I'm growing a bit on Titus O'Neil and Darren Young, but I stress "a bit." Cole had a classic jab when he replied to Titus' heel turning promo. He said "52 weeks and you still can't cut a promo." He actually said that! That was hilarious. Yeah, Cole can be hilarious. Tyson Kidd is really showing how good a wrestler he is on the show, and Michael McGuillicutty too. I notice he's losing his hair. One other note: for months, Kevin Steen has used the F-5 as a signature move. Now that Lesnar is back, he might have to stop that. I think it becomes disrespectful when signature moves, especially finishers are done in the same company as the person who's known to do it. So if someone used the Tombstone in WWE, and it's not Undertaker, and not part of a storyline (such as HHH), it's disrespectful. Which brings me to Kurt Angle when he ranted on Twitter about Swagger using the Ankle Lock, and Orton using the Angle Slam (he didn't complain of Charlie Haas STILL using it in ROH). Different companies, different fans, different places, so no real disrespect. He should have felt honored, since people think of Angle when those moves are used. Quote:

angle stole the ankle lock from ken shamrock in the 1st place, nothing wrong with using other peoples moves in different companies

He never once told her that he "loves" her, the closest he got was "I appreciate you." He never really defended the title, he kept getting DQ'ed or walking out of the matches. The only reason he had the title so long was because he kept walking away.

Some thoughts on Smackdown Johnny Ace almost made it through his rant stumble free, but not quite. At least he is being fair and fucking both champs. $500,000 fine for Sheamus. Oh dear. Daniel Bryan gets his rematch in a 2 out of 3 falls match at Extreme Rules. Remember what I said about it being competitive. Well they better make it 2-1, not 2-0 or any of that bullshit. I do like Sheamus, but Bryan is mah boi, a close match will be good for both of them. Finally Bryan can get to show what he can do in a 1v1 on ppv (the match vs Barrett doesn't count. ) In an ideal world, the tag team main event would have ended with a countout or dq. Bryan should not been pinned again. I suppose it was a legends show and it had to end like that so it doesn't matter in the long run. I would have bet every possession I have that when we saw Cowboy Bob Orton backstage, Kane was going to get him. The Randy Orton vs Mark Henry match was alright. Henry wasn't going to lose since he is getting a wwe title match on Raw. It looks like Kane vs Orton will happen at Extreme Rules. Quote:
It has been said a thousand times, but Heath Slater will never go anywhere until he gets a haircut. If he does get a haircut, he might still go nowhere, but he will have a better chance. Cody Rhodes was embarrassed again, this time by Dusty and once again from Big Show. This one was better. I miss the dashing gimmick. Cody really needs to win their rematch. Piper's Pit was the best segment on the show. |
