I took the SAT twice, first time making a very low score, then studied for it for months and took it again making high score, then I applied at several colleges in Texas before 2 of them accepted me and then I picked the one closer to home in town instead of the one that was out of town, 200 miles away.

probably all these USC types thought everything was on the up and up too

then look at the Ivy Leagues and there are strange things going on with the admissions processes, Asians way underrepresented and other various groups highly overrepresented - money talks

2 students sat, together with 3 lecturers, on the interview boards. I was one of them several times once I was in Year 2.

Our decisions where crucial, and I was never accosted with the offer of bribes or favours.

Glad we didn't have interviews back in the early 1980's when I was applying for college.

I was 17 and wouldn't never had made it.

In Lori's defense: maybe because of the pressure these rich kids have, mostly because of themselves - they want to be better than all the rest.
This pressure, resulting in not being able to live up to their standards, and thus doing foolish things.

In general: the attitude rich kids have towards others.
!! -> And these kids become the leaders causing a world wide financial breakdown, other major problems, wars... and walk free afterwards.
In a way, I'm really not sorry for these kind of kids at all !!

-> Learn how to earn money and/or even survive. That is real life !!

So don't know if it is the case for Lori, but yet I'm only sorry in Lori's case.
