Legendary was decent enough- it won't win any oscars but for what it was, it was watchable in it's own right.

Rocky was the shit in his glory days, and he can be good now, but I think his time away has fucked with his head and he's realized that what I'm saying is true. You just can't make the transfer and produce a quality product.

Edge is no different. I don't think he's making a career move, though- he's making a cheap comedy to stay in the spotlight.

This sounds a lot like I complain about how regular citizens have to get "certified" to work in our degrees, but these athletes can jump into any career with only a phys ed degree. Peyton Manning only won 1 title, yet he already has a job-in-waiting in the front office after he retires. Since when did a phys ed degree mean "business management?"
To fake a 5-minute injury is one thing, but to play a screen-role is completely out of their knowledge.
The only movie I saw with Rocky was "walking tall." I think most wrestlers know what you are saying, so they are just going for minor TV 1-hour shows.

I must be the only one who watched most of the WWE Studios films. There are films I think I'm meant to take seriously, there are others I shouldn't. I should just sit back and relax. Most of WWE films, I have to do the latter. If I was a serious wannabe critic, I'd be a lot more harsh on this.

The Marine - John's a total machine. However, Stallone and Schwarzanegger were machines, but something about them was funny. Arnold's infamously horrible puns somehow were hilarious. John isn't really in their league. Action stars that don't act the drama a lot (exclude Rocky), but they are niche actors, and should be treated as such. With that said, I thought it was an ok. There was a lot of sidebar conversation, as some attempt to get to know the villains. Like that matters, when most of them die or are gone by the end. The Terminator 2 villain guy was the most funny. The women were hot, and Cena's action scenes were fine. I watched the unrated version. It felt like a parody of 80s action movies, because things just seemed so animated. For example, Cena surviving that gas station explosion. Of course they had to slow mo it, to make it more aesthetically pleasing. It was fine.

12 Rounds - Die Hard 3 ripoff. Cena acted more, but if you watched this right after The Marine, there isn't much difference. Stunts, explosions, similar plotlines. Cena had a black sidekick, so there's your comic relief (not being racist). The star was the guy who played the main villain. He's a real character actor. I read of him being in that show, The Wire. He played the British villain in Shanghai Knights. I hope his payday was fine. Oh and the final segment of the show: Cena and his girlfriend jump from helicopter to a pool on a roof of a tall building. Seriously, I can't take that seriously, it's comical.

Legendary - Patricia Clarkson, again, another real actor shining. Nice story though, I think it took place in Oklahoma, which wrestling is God to that state (apparently wrestling and all combat sports are banned in OK, as far as I know). There's a rap song that played during Cena's brother's WWE Superstar like entrance. Cena and some other guy rapped in it, and it would make a great theme song to Cena if he turned heel. Since it's very hard hitting. Cena's acting was a bit better. I think this is their 2nd best movie.

That's What I Am - This is their best. Ed Harris should've got a huge paycheck from this, because without him, the movie wouldn't be much. It fits with WWE's anti-bullying campaign. Set in the 50s. They will always reference Orton's small role in it. "I'll go the papers if I have to." HA! Orton played a conservative father, who hates homosexuals (Harris' character was accused of being a homosexual). I don't think there's a difference between the character and Randall in real life

. Something to take seriously, and it was pretty critically acclaimed. The kid getting bullied, this big tall Ginger (Undertaker when he was young).

The Reunion - Well Amy Smart wasn't in that movie for long, despite the trailers making me think she would have a prominent role. Damn, she was hot in the Crank movies. Cena reverted back to action movie star, with his other brothers, one being a funny guy, and the other being some oddball ex-convict. I got confused about the story, thinking this suave Latino guy targeted by the FBI was the actual villain. Instead, it was the ragtag guys that kidnapped the rich man, that were the villains all along. I hope that made sense. Cena jumped from cliff to helicopter. That was the best part of the movie. They agreed, since it was shown in multiple angles, during the movie. I did learn of how advanced we are. Hostages can now talk in video/audio chats in realtime with their families. Wow, that really eliminates the illusion of the hostage actually being alive. Scare the families with such mystery. But no.

The Chaperone - How many films tout children's intelligence? Too much. This one went from HHH and his daughter, some drama, to kids saving HHH. Man, this definitely wouldn't be so prominent in the 80s, when the badass protagonist...was a badass protagonist. It's a family film. Treating it like that, it's decent. However, it should be rated PG, who the hell came up with PG-13?

Inside Out - Bruce Dern, star of the group. More dramatic, actiony, crime film. Just make HHH from Chaperone, more edgier. That's better. I think this is the only movie where Michael Rappaport was more than "that other guy" actor. You know, the actor that's in every movie, but has no real main role, very supporting. 3rd tier. Think James Cromwell. It was an ok movie.

I'd watch the Edge movie, because it has Edge. WWE should either close their movie division, or go straight to DVD, and no limited engagement theater crap. I read a bit about WWE's Q4 results, and their movie division was the biggest financial loss. They lost 8 million dollars.

Pretty much what SD said, wrestling and Hollywood are different worlds. The transition isn't easy, and not realistic at all. Rock is an exception, but he's in certain niche stuff. I didn't watch Southland Tales, but I watched Gridiron Gang or whatever it's called. That was Rock's most dramatic role, and he was good in it.

I'll be honest though, a buddy comedy with HHH and Shawn Michaels would be nice. Oh and Jericho playing his heel character from 2008-2010. That's such a true villain role, and it was inspired by one of the best movie villains of all time, Anton Chigurh.

I'm trying to think of a list of the best "acting wrestlers", and the best three that I can come up with are: Jesse Ventura, Terry Funk & Roddy Piper. Each of them has been able to seem like an actual actor (instead of a wrestler pretending to be an actor) when in a film ... maybe Andre would be added, because of the Princess Bride.

Can anyone think of anyone else that really seemed like an actor?

And since Alan K. posted that thing about 'larger plans' for ADR ... I have a bit of 'fantasy booking' that I know would never happen but would make me super-interested in the WWE product again: after the end of the HITC match, a group of younger guys (led by ADR, but including guys like Ziggler/Swagger/Rhodes that are just at the top of the mid-card level) attack all three of Taker, HHH & HBK, saying that this whole "end of an era" stuff was crap because "their era had ended a long time ago and it was already a new era now," leading to a year long build for next year's Mania, which would feature all of the older guys going against all of the younger guys (and giving them the win/rub as often as possible). Taker/ADR, HHH/Rhodes, HBK/Ziggler, etc.

I can believe the Del Rio bit. I think he should go back to SD. Maybe challenge Sheamus for the world title? I also read of him and Ricardo Rodriguez making an entertaining tag team. As for Christian, I still hope what ever big plans they have (if there are any), still go underway.

Speaking of Shawn Michaels, I really can't believe the rumor of HHH/HBK wrestling next year. For one, Shawn already shot that down on Twitter. Two, it doesn't need to happen, at all. One more big match for HHH? He's had plenty. Shawn really gains nothing from it as well. Also, this would be a miserable strike against Shawn's farewell. Flair botched his own farewell, don't need Shawn doing the same thing. If it did happen, HHH is the biggest beggar in all of wrestling.

Although those three matches sound nice. Undertaker wins, Ziggler wins, Hunter wins. Honestly, that's realistic. If going more fantasy, then all the young guys (Del Rio isn't young, but make an exception) get the win.

The movies I commented on are the only ones I saw. I honestly don't want to watch The Marine 2. I like Ted, but he can be very robotic in character potrayal.

Interesting fact: the guy who played Luca Brasi in Godfather (bodyguard for the Corleones), was a pro wrestler. Lenny Motana. Here's him getting killed.

I was looking at my football bets and William Hill are doing Wrestlemania, I've never seen wrestling getting offered before. I have Cena and Rock to thank for this, or I would if the odds were better. Bryan is the only decent price but history is conspiring against him.
