Not everyone can find/marry a significant other who is objectively hot. There's a lot more factors that play into deciding to marry someone. There's material considerations, emotional considerations (where you are aware that your partner is average looking or worse but they compensate in other ways so in the end its all good), peer pressure, etc.

I guess that what these series mean with the "hotwife" term is pretty much young wives who are total babes, lol.

I think originally it was associated with Hotwife Rio who was an IR amateur (and really is Hot) but lately I have seen many amateurs use the term hotwife as an adjective but the women often aren't very hot so it kinda lost its meaning.
