Major Details Behind Why WWE is Pushing New Talent

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the reason why Kofi Kingston is getting such a big push right now is because WWE officials feel that the company needs an African-American baby face towards the top of the card. After several other talents that were selected for the spot didn't work out the way the company had hoped, the decision was made to give Kingston the big push.

It's also being reported that Jack Swagger's push has been slowed down, and possibly even halted, as WWE officials feel that he is not panning out the way the company had hoped.

As far as Sheamus and Drew McIntyre are concerned, they are getting their respective pushes right now because Sheamus is the work out partner of Triple H, and McIntyre is well liked by both Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

WWE Smackdown Taping Tonight

Tonight, WWE will tape this week's edition of Smackdown & ECW two days earlier than usual as talent from all three brands will be heading over seas tomorrow night to tape this year's Tribute to the Troops special.

Tonight's taping is taking place at The Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA, and at this point there have been no announced matches besides a dark match main event featuring The Undertaker vs CM Punk vs Batista in a Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Title.

Indeed, but for the Dudleys to come back, they'd have to lose some weight, obviously.
I read in an article a few years back that Devon and Bubba Ray even said themselves they would have to do that.

Indeed, it would be awesome. Hardys VS Dudleys VS E&C all over again.....Then again, the tag titles need to bring back even more prestige.

PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE has had preliminary discussions with SyFy officials concerning a possible re-branding of ECW in 2010.

At this point, it's being said that the main change will most likely be ridding the show of its "ECW" title, and possibly renaming it to something that would be more appropriate to a show that features up and coming talent.

The show would most likely change its look a bit as well, although for the most part it is expected to remain similar to the way it is now in terms of programming, focusing on new, up and coming talent who will later make the switch to either Raw or Smackdown.
