The Sovereign's birthday is always celebrated in June, regardless of whether the King or Queen was born in that month or not.
The reason for this, is that the celebrations involve large outdoor crowds and military parades: British weather being what it is, it was felt that June was the safest bet to avoid a wash out. Up until the 1930s, it was common for British middle class (and above) people to have live in domestic servants. They would be expected to work on Christmas day, preparing and serving the family meal. Traditionally, they were given the following day off (that explains the tradition of eating leftovers from the Christmas meal on the 26th) and were given boxes containing various gifts by the families they served, and so that day became known as Boxing Day.

Oh. I thought it was because they all donned gloves and beat the shit out of each other.
Lots of fresh, carbon-filtered, ice-cold agua for me. |

I'd love to, man, but I'm freelance security. My ability to find work is almost entirely based on my reputation.

Back on topic, tonight I'm drinking blueberry juice with gin. I've always been more of a whiskey guy, but lately I've been really into gin for some reason. I don't think I ever really had it until recently. |
