I have recently retooled my workflow to use Prores files for all editing and will be releasing files in 10bit very soon. The Janet Mason scene in this post leverages this new workflow. Prores is a lossless file format vs the near lossless x264 files I was previously using, which means I will be able to retain even more details.

BTW, I seriously doubt that 4k releases will be a regular thing for me (unless I get some even beefier hardware to use as a dedicated encoder) because the processing time is exponentially longer the higher you go in resolution. FOr example, I recently learned how to do a final pass in Topaz Video to enhance details and do any final shapening tweaks that usually only takes about 45 min for a 45 min 1080 file. So about 1 min of processing per minute of video. I just finished the same pass on a 4k file this morning and it took 9 hours and 21 minutes for a 38 minute video. Needless to say, 4k releases will be limited to scenes that are my utmost favorites AND the quality supports it.

Well crap... just found an issue with the Janet Mason scene. Working to fix it and re-upload. The video pauses in the middle but the audio keeps plays which makes the audio out of sync when the video plays again. Going to cut that pause and then resync audio.

OK, a fixed version of the Janet Mason Pole Position scene is now up. The links in the post have been updated. This is more of a band-aid, unfortunately. I had to cut 19 second about 3/4 of the way in and then I synced the audio back up. Of course I can't just leave it like this so I will work on redoing it AGAIN. This will be like the 6 time doing so. At least they are getting better each time. I am confident this (hopefully last) re-work will be the best one yet. Until then, even incomplete, the current one looks better than any other versions out there.
